Sexual assault and rape of men
As part of my MSc Criminology degree, I'm running a survey about adult men's experiences and beliefs regarding the sexual assault and rape of men called malesurvey.info - MEN your country needs you!. The survey has had a terrific response from men who want to share their perceptions and experiences anonymously. There has been a particularly positive response from this site and I wondered whether you would like to discuss the subject?
For instance -
Have you ever experienced unwanted sexual coercion?
Do you think this is an invisible crime because male victims do not report the assault?
Would you feel able to report an assault or rape? If not, why not?
What could be done to make men feel able to report sexual crimes?
I would really like to hear your thoughts....

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
What do you intend to use the research for?

Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
Thanks Marx. That's a good question. The initial reason for the research is to increase our knowledge about this subject in a way which illustrates to the University that I understand the principles and applications of a research process. Therefore I am not conducting the research with any specific intention in mind, except as with all research to inform and educate. In an ideal world of course, results of research would also affect social policy and legislation, but often this is not the case. Once the research is completed it is available in the public domain and the statistics can be used by any-one who wishes to use them. Some of the male voluntary organisations have expressed an interest in the results, not about experiences of victims (Perhaps because they know a lot about that) but about public beliefs regarding the sexual assault and rape of males. It is possible that they feel that more knowledge about public perceptions could inform future campaigns to increase public awareness.
Hope this answers your question?
Is this a subject that interests you? Do you have any suggestions for how the research could be used? I am open to suggestions as I would like the research to be put to the best use.

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
The survey looks good. I can see that a lot of thought has gone into it.
A couple of years ago, I was followed into the men's toilet by an agressive drunken women who demanded that I kiss her. I left the toilets immediately. It is fucking terrifing for a man to be in this position because he will be the one who usually ends up being accused.
However, because I actually did not engage in sexual contact with this woman (I left), it doesn't appear that there is any way for this to be recorded in the survey.THE LAST LEGIONARY

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
I've filled in this survey after several bad experiences with women who treated my body as something they thought they had every right to touch in any way they wanted. Needless to say, these same women would have called the police immediately if I had done the same to them.
But of course, it was me who was being uptight when I objected to what they were doing, and they were entitled to publicly ridicule me for it. I was making a big deal out of nothing, I was being pathetic.
The double standards and hypocrisy on this issue are absolutely sickening.“Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men is the restatement of the obvious.”

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
I'm really not sure what this is about. ????
Does it concern overt sexual behaviour from women, directed against men?Did you go to the "Ladies" by mistake?A couple of years ago, I was followed into the men's toilet by an agressive drunken women who demanded that I kiss her. I left the toilets immediately. It is fucking terrifying for a man to be in this position because he will be the one who usually ends up being accused.
In my new culture, a woman playfully slapping a man (on hand or shoulder for example) means that she likes you and expects you to respond with 'courting behaviour'. In the west I guess that it's just plain violence.Aaaah! So it's just more western navel-gazing. You play with the research process in a non-rigorous way, by asking loaded questions and ultimately get a feminist-sanctioned college degree! Thanks Marx. That's a good question. The initial reason for the research is to increase our knowledge about this subject in a way which illustrates to the University that I understand the principles and applications of a research process. Therefore I am not conducting the research with any specific intention in mind...
Good luck to you, but forgive me if I don't take part. You might find a few suckers here who want to tell you their story.

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
Sorry that happened to you

I understand how you feel, no one *should* ever be placed in a sexual situation where they're not listened to, but a lot of us *are*. I personally think this happens more to men than is reported...I hung out with a guy in high school who liked to get shoulder massages from me, but would tense up if I touched his chest. (Nothing sexual ever happened between us, we were just friends. It was kinda thereputic for me, too.)
Seems his previous girlfriend was sadistic and liked to bite/pinch his nipples til they were purple. Bitch...
He ended up moving away, I hope his next love interest respected his fear and helped him move past it.

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
Well, if it was truly a playful slap on the arm, I doubt anyone (male or female) would think it's "plain violence". But really, that should only be done to someone you know won't take offense to it...
For example, if one of my friends/ male coworkers says something "insulting", then yeah, I'll slap their arm playfully or feint a punch to the gut. But we all know it's fun and games, and all my friends can do the same to me if *I* say something "insulting" to them. (In fact, I usually end up with my arm pinned or in a headlock...they're all taller/stronger than me!) No one ever gets hurt, and we have fun because everyone knows it's just banter and playing.
But none of my coworkers would ever do that to our OTHER female coworkers, and I certainly wouldn't do it to them OR anyone I'd just met on the street.
In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
Being from Canada I am disqualified from doing this survey.
Let's see....
Ex comes home from work...destroy's house..screams smashes and destroy's everything in site....must be pub night.
Gone out to the bar...shows up at 4 am wants to get laid, even when she is so hammered she comes off as a disgusting drunk pig.
She still "needs" to get laid, even against my will.
I will NEVER have sex with a drunk pig again------EVER!

Re: Sexual assault and rape of men
I had to fuck a woman for years in order to have contact with my young daughters with her.
I have recently refused to do this anymore.
So now have not been able to see my young daughters for several months and probably will not see them again for a very long time now."Women...
