You obviously must be male (or a very talented female), usually between 18 and 35, and live within an hour's drive of the sperm bank. Not too difficult, right? Oh, did I mention you have to be at least 6 feet tall? Yeah, turns out nobody likes shorties, least of all prospective parents.

Why? If you are tall, educated and can write a proper description, you should donate. You will father a horde of children(since studies show women choose the same men more often than not) who will be brought up by other men. Genetically, I'd call it a win.

Also, this whole anger at women not liking short men is the equivalent of aged walruses and other female wilderbeasts complaining that men don't like fat women. Please.

It's not a win when you realise that some countries' laws are changing proactively so that sperm donors can end up being financially liable for their children's upbringing.

So a guy gets paid .. what - $100? .. for his sperm as a one-off payment, then can be liable for over $10,000 per year for every/any child produced as a result.

Even for the very financially desperate, I'd say that's poor return. Far better go to a loan shark, where you can borrow $100 and only have to pay back $500.

Only from an animal's perspective. Yes, the typical male animal is designed to father as many off-spring as possible, but most people want to leave behind more than their genetic coding. There's a "human" side to this as well. It's actually disturbing to imagine a brood of children I'm unaware of. Being a "father" and being a "dad" should go hand-in-hand, just to feel natural. I don't want to raise anyone else's kids, and I certainly want to raise my own.
