I fear that the reality is that fellow German MRAs are too much centered on their own blogs and boards. Heck we even got our own fairly successful MRA organisation. On top of that, I believe quite a few canīt figure out the English language plus the general desinterest on what is going on in other parts of the world.

For clarification, there are several large MRA boards in Germany.

As far as I can tell the movement is heading in the direction of entering politics with a new party. It seems to me that international boards are not really the priority now.

There is nothing much to say on the first one....the situtation is compareable to fathers in Europe. I donīt think it is that much different in your country.

Isnīt there already a Killed-at-work-day thread in the activism section....I started two...hm

Can you make a thread about the Father's Rights situation in the German forum section?

Also, please make a thread about the Killed at Work day in the Activism section.

The problem with custody is the same as there is in other countries. No one can force her to let you see the children and the state agency is pretty much anti-male. I want the changes from Switzerland here!

So if you marry in Germany you automatically have custody of the children? That's pretty good. What you're tell me sounds quite good so is there no father's rights issue in Germany then?

In any way you should not rush for marriage, because the FACT is that for example the frequency of sex substantially drops like a stone after about 2 months after the marriage, just before the marriage you'll get hte best sex you'll ever get, and after marriage not so much. A marriage without sex is no marriage as some studies have pointed out. So you can postpone marrying and having children and enjoy freedom before getting stuck so to speak.

Tyr Tyr Tyr...I guess I have to explain the German system to you:
1.) If you marry you can marry in a church. If you donīt sign the contract, this is not possible.
2.) If you marry you can split your income tax. This adds an additional 2000-3000 € a year on my bank account. If you do not marry you canīt do that
3.) If you marry the breadwinners partner and children are automaticly insured. If you do not marry the one who stays at home has to pay for insurance
4.) If you marry you get one additional pension.
5.) If you marry and have children you automaticly as a man get custody. If you are not married you have to "beg" for custody as noone can force the mother to give it to you. (You have to pay though)
6.) If you marry and something happens to your partner you are allowed to visit and make certain decisions in a hospital. If you do not marry you have to fill out paperwork plus pay money to get one of these.
7.) If you marry and your partner dies you can demand a certain part of the inheritance and you have to pay much less tax for it. If you do not marry you canīt do that.
8.) Some even marry just for a green card so their partner (and children) can stay in this country.
9.) If you want to work for the church (which is a huge employer here (1.2 Million people working for them)) you canīt cohabit and have to marry.
10.) If you marry you donīt have to testify in a court situation. If you donīt you have.

That is the situation here and I am not even thinking about benefits you have when you start a company.

A lot of those are uninteresting if you donīt want to have a long term relationship and fuck arround. But, if you meet someone you plan to be together with your hole life, have children, a lot of these points (like what happens to you when I am not there anymore, hospital-, court-scenarios) become very important. Heck if you get children out of wedlock you have far less rights than a married father and still have to pay.

Given the fact that you still have to pay alimony for cohabiting (after some years) what is so great about that? What is your strategy? Only date women for some years?

You can actually. Financial benefits... you should be able to live comfortable yourself without needing to marry for financial benefits.

You don't have to sign away your rights so to speak with marriage. You could actually marry (ceremony, honeymoon etc)without signing the formal legal contract.

You canīt do everything and marriage has its financial benefits (here), but there are the risks of course. If it is worth it, is something the couple has to decide.

Maybe I use a proxy or something... I'm not telling. You don't need to get married at all, you can do everything without marriage. If you do marry get a prenuptial agreement.

I don't want to reveal where I'm from sorry, I try to stay anonymous here. Well yes children cost a lot of money and you're sure that your wife will stay with you? You probably know all the risks.

      >>>I wasn't talking about mastering German, but getting decent at it for conversation and maybe reading, writing. With enough effort it is possible, but this also requires discipline and determination.<<<

I agree. You will however walk into a typical German grammar trap every now and then (and I have seen people living here for 30 years doing this)

Just e.g. a BMW station wagon like 1997 BMW 528i. Second hand is not very expensive, but maintenance can be costly.

      >>>I did not use a google translator! My language is quite closely related to yours as is English (I command english at native level). [...] Cologne is not so far away.<<<

So where are you from? (I still think it hardly possible to completely master German / Heck I canīt do it and I am German)

      >>>So does your wife cost a lot of money?<<<

It is my wife not a prostitute. She does not cost money. Having a family isnīt cheap though

      >>>Does she know you're a MRA and what does she think about that?<<<

She knows and I think she would fit in well into that forum....if she could speak English.

      >>>Ford Focus ist nicht so Toll.<<<

What Focus like cars (is it a station wagon?) would you suggest?

I did not use a google translator! My language is quite closely related to yours as is English (I command english at native level). I have not studied German in years, but maybe I'll do so again. So does your wife cost a lot of money? Does she know you're a MRA and what does she think about that? Cologne is not so far away.

Ford Focus ist nicht so Toll.

Well it is a money problem I can use the equally slow car of my wife as well (a VW) but this is just a money problem. I mean I use cars to get from a to b and do not really need high speed (or luxury) cars.

I might get a larger car maybe in the near future and I am still thinking about Ford as I somehow like the Focus. A family car so to speak.

Oh on grammar and spelling. I believe it is almost impossible for a foreigner to completely understand German spelling. What you are able to write (or google-ly translate ;-P ) is very very good.
