Human beings have a limited amount of sexual energy which is dissipated upon orgasm and especially during ejaculation for men. Women also lose a fair amount as well during orgasm. This has a noticeable effect on libido for a certain period of time afterwards when the body gradually creates more sexual energy and as it does so, libido also increases until it reaches a point where teh person seeks to orgasm, where up it decreases again. This cycle goes on and on. In guys that sexual energy can be restored quite quickly which is why most guys feel like sex most days or at least a few times a week (whether they get it or not is another story).
From surveys I've read and from my own experience and those of my male friends, we know that women in long term relationships reject the sexual advances of their guy often thus limiting sex to once a week/month, etc. This then causes the male to seek other ways to orgasm to deal with that build up of libido/sexual energy and so masturbates. The women also has that energy restored, but instead chooses to masturbate rather than allow the sexual advances of her partner. This depletes her energy and so she won't feel like sex/masturbation for another couple of days. if she had decided to reject masturbation and instead use sex with her partner to orgasm and dissipate that sexual energy then the relationship would flourish. the guy would be happier from being able to have sex and feel that bond between him and his wife, and the wife would be happier becuase she has a partner who is happy and giving and willing to do more for her and the family becuase he's more balanced and not angry from being rejected. The women also gets to enjoy sex and orgasm as well.
In a society like we have now where when people want something they just go and get it immediately becuase they don't have patience to wait or couldn't be bothered. They buy it on credit or seek quick 'solutions' for health problems with pills.
So when the women feels sexual energy in her, the modern day women couldn't be bother with the time/fuss of actually having sex with her guy and masturbates instead feeling that it's just quicker and easier. Then the guys suffers because the women isn't going to feel like sex for a while until her sexual energy builds up. He gets angry and resents his partner. The relationship becomes more strained and she feels even more inclined to masturbate rather than 'giving' sex to her partner becuase she doesn't feel close to him. this exacerbates the situation until the couple rarely has sex at all with the woman frequently masturbating and the guy going a little crazy from not being able to have sex and masturbating regularly just to be able to keep some sort of sanity and balance.

Not if it's to the detriment of the relationship/marriage it's not. There's nothing dignified in rejecting your partners sexual advances/desires and choosing to masturbate instead. That's just a receipe for disaster and a corroding relationship.
Given that in todays society women feel 'empowered' to reject their husbands and choose the easy option of masturbation instead it's no wonder that divorce rates are getting higher and higher.
What women of today fail to realise that sex is a part of marriage. If a woman doesn't want to have sex periodically with her partner then she shouldn't get married. It would seem that todays woman wants to re-define the term marriage to suit herself or her now 'empowered' sense of herself. In reality the term that most women call 'empowerment' is self delusion and selfishness.

Is this site just concerned with the 'results' of failed marriage and divorce? Is any conversation on what may actually cause this in the first place of no use? Only if your only concerned about the symptom rather than the cause. It helps to think outside the box a bit and try to see what are the reason why marriages fail in the first place. If this type of knowledge can aid in prevention of relationship breakdown then that would indicate its worth to me. But of course if you find it easier to label me a 'troll' then to actually think about it then go ahead.

I fail to see a problem....the human race has been jacking off since they figured out they could, and they have been doing it since. Yes and the human race has been killing and killing each other ever since. Face it, the world is pretty f&*ked up. Just because the human race has been doing something so mindless for so long doesn't mean there isn't a better way, or that we shouldn't think of change.
If we are interested in studying ourselves and our relationships and in understanding what we do and why we do it, then there may be hope if not for the rest of the world, at least in our own little worlds. If we can follow through a stream of thought from start to finish in investigate what may be a potential cause for so much conflict within relationships then we may help ourselves and indirectly help the world.
Saying that it's always been going on is just a lazy excuse to not do anything adn not consider a better way. If every time one of the partners felt libido if they were able and willing to take the time to join together sexually, then there'd be a lot, lot more happiness in the world, and respect for each other. And with that a lot less agression in the world.
We can come to a site like this and bitch and complain about what happened to us and blame women for it and feel sorry for ourselves or we can choose to look at causes and learn from it.
