Its probably time to use more descriptive words. That word has a connotation that is inflammatory in the wrong ways. The English language has more words than any other language. I think we can find one that works better and gets the right kind of angry out of people.

Most of the time that word is used to refer to a punk thug or worthless human being. The problem is the word you are asking about has been used commonly to refer to someone for a physical attribute not behavior. Lets stop trying to redefine it, and use our wonderful language to do better. Besides if you are not black, and use the word nigger, no one will care what you meant. Everyone will have their own perception of what you mean, and it probably won't be what you want.

It is important as we try to fight the institutional misandry that we don't give the feminists an easy way to discount our arguments. To choose our words to be clear and make our points. Lets leave no room for ambiguity. Most of the people we are talking to don't see the destructive things that feminism has done. They don't tie the two things together. Lets not let the feminists tie men's groups to racial bigotry, because then we stop being heard.

HK, the thread title and first line of text was a quote from the video.

The entire thrust of the video was indicating that 'nigger' NO LONGER refers to colour but to crudity and crap, excuse and falsity.

The context that Percy is using the word 'nigger' is not a racial context but based on one's character. He isn't judging on the color of one's skin but the content of one's character and therefore should not be lumped with a racist. In fact, if someone uses the fact that he's white to condemn him for using the word 'nigger' in an non-racist context then that person probably has racial bigotry themselves.

Also, I've been called a nigger before in the racial context. Words only have as much power as we allow them to have in the grand scheme of things. It would be great irony for feminists to tie men's groups to racial bigotry when they have roots in the KKK. I'm sure there are some racist members in men's groups but it is a lapse of judgement to look for racism where no racism is present.

Just a few hours ago my American client bought me (Brit) dinner in an international restaurant owned by an Australian and his Asian wife.

Loud Australians were swearing loudly, but most of the customers didn't understand anyway.

To our right some Koreans were drinking Filipino rum. I probably taught some of their kids, or at least kids of people they know.

A variety of Europeans brought Filipina, Thai and Japanese girlfriends.

My good friend John (American black) , who set up one of the nicest beach resorts in northern Mindanao was recently killed in in a car accident on the way back from a Rotary meeting. He was sadly absent.
