    She is setting a bad example for her kid.

    However, Mr. Browning, what is your opinion on this? It is customary for the poster to give his/her opinions as well.

    Encouraging a competitive nature is a good thing, but people really do need to learn to draw the line at something. I watched a program the other day about this where mothers thought their kids could sing so made them quit everything including school to sing which none of the kids actually wanted to do and when it came down to it, professional vocal coaches told the mothers that there was no way that the kids would ever be good enough to be professional. The poor girls had ended up losing out on so much in life just because the mothers had been trying to live out their dreams through the kids. That's when it's just unhealthy and selfish.
