Yesterday I was listening to BBC Radio 2 and one of the discussions they were having caught my interest. As soon as they mentioned the following person and her views I just knew she was going to be a moron....

Anyway, they had a female artist in the studio to talk to them about her campaign. She believes that men using public transport should give up their seats to women - but not just pregnant women as you might expect. Or elderly women, or women with children. Nope. All women. Men should give up their seats for any woman.

Her 'reason' -if you can call it that- for men giving up their seats for women was because women, and I quote:
"....generally find things more uncomfortable than men...."
(I thought to myself at this point "What an idiot. That's a crap reason.")
"....we have periods and we have to wear suits that don't fit very well and we have to wear high heels".
(Do they have to wear high heels? I doubt that very much.)
After hearing those 'reasons' my suspicion that this woman was a moron was confirmed.

She also said that nearly all of the men she had asked to give up their seats to her on public transport had agreed. (As soon as I heard this, my heart sank a little, and I thought to myself "manginas.") Apparently she also gives them some of her artwork in return....uh, great....
Also the men she asked were supposedly happy to 'be a gentleman' and give her their seats.

To help with her campaign to get men to give up their seats, she made and handed out badges to women for them to wear to help shame men into compliance.
The badge apparently bore the (shit) slogan:
'Only women bleed....
....Only women conceive'
I don't know if it occurred to that dimwit that it takes a woman and a man to conceive....

When the male host of the show quizzed her about it, he asked her if her campaign didn't set back women's cause for equality.
She said that it didn't.
She also said that women 'nearly had equality to men' and she also mentioned some bullshit to do with the wage gap as 'evidence' of inequality.
The moron then went on the say that despite equality we should remember that men and women are still different.
To me this just sounded like this woman wants to have her cake and eat it. Wanting 'equality', but still wanting (and unfortunately getting) the benefits of chivalry, despite those two things being unable to realistically co-exist.

Next, they took some calls from the listeners. They had a male caller who agreed with the moron. Then they had a female caller who disagreed with the moron. Her disagreement basically seemed to come from her belief that it was 'patronising' to women, because it implied that women were weak or the like.
When she said it was patronising to women, I was thinking to myself "What about men? Isn't it patronising to men to expect them to be 'equal' but still have to give their seat to an 'equal'?".
As you can probably guess, they didn't take any calls from any men who disagreed with her...

So apparently, men and women are equal, but women are more equal than men.
But you knew that already, didn't you?

Ah yes, the Eekwality™ argument. We're equal when it's about good things. When it's about something negative, then we are different. Different in a way that gives her the upper hand, of course.

Men do not matter. They are nothing. They just are. But that's it.

Rosa Parks whose refusal/civil disobedience in 1955 Alabama led to the start of the modern US civil rights movement , whereby she refused to give up her seat to a white person who demanded it. This was opposing racial apartheid and white supremacy.

Today for any man to deny/refuse any woman (unless their pregnant or elderly) his seat is to oppose gender apartheid and female supremacy. I'm extremely passionate about this point and I'm more than happy to make a public scene to press my righteous point.
