I am 100% in agreement with Outodoors. But I would make sure more than just the lawyer would be waiting.

If a few men took this option then our problems would be solved very qucikly.

And yes, in my case, I have been close to "doing it". Fortunately I had a wise judge who was able to see through the lies and slander.

I've looked temporarily into the dark void. Coming from an Irish background not putting up some vigorous opposition would go against everything that inhabits my fighting existence. It did make me adopt an unwavering eagerness to oppose despite whatever compelling odds I face. I do like a challenge. Let us impose on our enemies that which they sought of us! Let us be absolutely vicious towards that which seeks ill of us and be considerate of those who need our genuine help.

However , I have attended a funeral of a workmate who hung himself . He was splitting from his partner and had lost everything . The only light in his life was his 6 yr old daughter .
I will never forget seeing his young daughter at his funeral , I think if he could have known the effect it would have on her ,he would not have done it .
I'd urge anyone , who is considering suicide PLEASE , PLEASE think about what you are doing . Consider what it would do to your children and family .
If anyone is considering killing themselves , PLEASE talk to someone . Get help , believe me , life IS worth living , no matter how bad it gets .

Sure Sealion, it is a bad situation. But what about all the men who die in Iraq or Afghanistan - for what? But is OK, because "society" says so?

Lets be honest, the divorce-contact with kids, etc battle is our personal war against terrorism.

If someone is going to decide to clock out (not that I am encouraging it), then better then make sure the real guilty bastards go with them.

Its sad to note that we have acheived NOTHING by sitting around and talking (lets hope that will change). The only change in the last 30 years for the postive for men was a realxation of the oppression of child support payments (in the UK) after a man hung himself a few years ago and the law changed so that one pays a percetnage of ones income in child support.

Sealion, you see no problem thousands dying in Iraq/Afghanstan, but if a handful of men died in the west in "our" cause and the law change, would this be really a bad thing?

So yeah fuck the system, the harder it gets fucked the better. We all have to go one day, but if we make an exit and a change, then thats the best way to go.

Sorry, I know these are extreme thoughts, but we are dealing with an extreme situation, we are in a war, the rule of law no longer applies in our situation, the law is used as a one sided instrument of oppression against us.

Death is but one option - it would be far better a mass civil disobediance action - like say 1,000 men refusing to pay child support and going to prison for it to bring attention to our struggle

Thing is when you arrive at the place and a time of your life and there is no light at the end of the tunnel and any amount of talking or councilling still will not fix the problem tomorrow , what are yo suposed to do?

If there is no light at the end of the tunnel, then why keep looking down it? I find it helps to focus on the things one has, rather than what one would like to have, or has lost..

It hasn't changed up to the point of what you've written, certainly. But even though you don't have as much access to your children now as you'd like, it will surely change in the future with a determined resolve. You'll be happy you persevered when your children come of age, where they can choose to contact you without the state incessantly intruding.

I think what the state likes, is for victims to be happier victims.. The old talk therapies are also so easy to abuse, many a fellow I have heard has been down this road and ended up being told he has to take "medications", or that he needs more therapy for "anger issues".. Indeed, can escalate to him ending up being arrested or detained under the mental health acts..

Lots of folk seem to be on the old anti-depressants for prolonged periods..
