Very happy to have found this forum, first post

I'm a working Joe in Southern CA and am very glad that I found this forum. I have been reading some of the posts over the last few days and am intrigued by what I see.

I work in a company that is about 73% women. Everywhere I look, there are women around me. If this company were 73% men, I think that every women's rights organization in the country would be filing lawsuits and epxressing outrage--but of course, since it is 73%--that is just fine and nobody seems to comment about it (except me).

I used to be in a men's group for a year or two--which I found really helpful. It was inspired by the mythopoetic men's movement--specifically, by a retreat that Michael Meade did in WA about 10 years ago. I miss being in a men's group and am sort of keeping my eye out for one locally. I am open to suggestions.

I think the situation in today's world is getting very dangerous for men. I see the young women walk around with an absolutely astounding sense of entitlement. I am angry. I am disgusted. I am suspicious. I wonder why the media is not writing about these issues. I rarely see articles about what I see happening in the world around me--women taking over society and men being edged out and disparaged.

This forum gives me some hope. I see that women bond with each other very quickly, talk all the time, and create powerful networking associations that work in their interests. I don't see men doing this. I think that we men need to start doing this kind of work among ourselves. I hope that this forum is part of that work. I think it might be.

My boss (who, surprisingly enough around this company, is male) told me that HR had come into his office recently and told him that the mandate is to hire even more women, since the company, here in the West, is behind its goals in that regard. I was flabbergasted and angered to hear this.

I want to see the media focus attention on issues affecting men. I noted that the New York Times had two articles in the last year or two about how women are earning more than men in many professions in many large American cities. The articles also stated that more women than men are enrolled in degree programs at higher education institutes and more of them are taking degrees. I see articles around on the web about this a fair amount.

I have also seen articles and books that question the whole "Glass Ceiling" theory--but more often than not I see articles that take it for granted that the data used to compute these statistics is accurate. I see a lot of potential misinformation flying about and I am sick of it.

Yes, I am a pissed off man in a woman's world. I don't see the right or the left addressing men's issues. I think that perhaps men's issues are part of a new discourse that perhaps make nonsense of the traditional left/right debates... This is just an idea that has been occurring to me lately.

I, too, don't understand why your company is mandated to hire more women when they already make up 73% of your workforce.

I also believe that it would be great for men to do some networking and alliance forming and I believe that is one of many things that this website accomplishes.

None of this "Social engineering" is done for the good of women, it is done to tear society apart from within, do you think that the devil likes you ?

    Willkommen!

I always like it when someone here writes more than one sentence in his opening post.

    There is hope....
The men's and fathers' movement needs to make sure it never sees females as the enemy,
but only misandry--whether from females or from males.
If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.

    Hello.

You'll find a hub of progressive networking here, complete with tangible battles engaged in, and won.

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.
Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."
