I think - you demonstrate here deep misunderstanding of nature of those kinds of social behaviour... it main purpose is not to "punish women" (you can't whip an ocean), but to avoid descdited institue of matriarchal merriadge... Since this institute became extremelly unbalanced, unjust, and unsure toward men - there is nothing more logical and natural for them to avoid it... It is not about "punish someone"... It is about "save your ass"...
