Douglas, you have so much insight but what I really wonder is, can you teach me how to dougie?

When I do this, and I know I will, it will be comparable to the lame learning to walk, the blind being enabled to see and the suffocated breathing again. The sky isn't the limit; there are no limits.

You know that really sexist law over in USA called VAWA? That has come about due to influence of the Greer-and-Dworkin-kind.
Sorry, I was thinking that was the more generic, "domestic violence only happens from a man to a woman". Didn't associate it with any one feminist icon in particular.

Speaking of which, we just got our annual charitable fund drive notice at work. Just for fun I looked up the member agencies of the United Way for my area. The Mid Willamette Valley Women's Crisis Service is still listed. Their website is still perpetuating that myth.

There are pages describing domestic violence as being from one person to another, but then when they get to the examples, it's (for kids), "Don't try to get in the middle of a domestic dispute; you can't protect your mom." And about dating violence, "Does your boyfriend get mad when you don't do what he wants? Does he try to pressure you into sex?"

    This is a state-sponsored charity!!

It doesn't seem to do any good to speak out against it. The only thing I gain is a trip to the boss' office, because his boss has been on him, and a reputation as a trouble-maker. Then people make jokes about me.

Don't know how I lost sight of that. I guess I'm still trying to reconcile the way the people I hang out with act, and what's generally accepted in society. That's where I've changed, I guess. Before, the things I experienced that didn't prove 100% misandry, I just ignored. Comes from being a doormat.

I have talked to my counselor about this. It seems that I only have two speeds at this point - roll-over and play dead doormat, and full-on confrontation. Sorry about that. Working on it - 40 some-odd years of conditioning is hard to break.

We are all in possession of a garden, Pops. It is our internal landscape. Kelly is sorting out the flowers from the weeds and in the digging discovering precious metals.

Weed? I thought I saw somebody rolling something or another up.

    I agree.

Despite everything you read, watch or listen to on the mainstream media, these guys still have a voice, whether you agree or not. That is truly 'AWESOME'!
