Funny you only hear about dead beat dads. This felt most awesome to read after spending time with my own son for my first complete weekend IN MY OWN HOME after three yrs of custody battles and visitation and access denial by the ex, not by the court. My papers were good to go from the get go. Getting a contemp of court against an es wife is about as easy as getting a fourth mortgage loan after filing a second bankruptcy. Add to this, try getting a perjury charge to stick in family court on a mother. These things just don't happen. Switch the gender!! Oh boy. A whole network is ready to cook your meat. Wonder what really happens to all that money?

If you tabulate how much fathers in divorce and custody issues, shell out as a whole, what number/percentage of these monies actually make it to the kids and their actual well being? After thought, what percentage actually makes it to the real children of these fathers? You know, Biological fathers and their blood related children.

Would be an interesting study!

From what I understand, the charges against Kurt's ex-wife are very serious and entail some mandatory sentences of at least 10 years. What still blows me away is that this twit actually brought drugs into court. I mean how fucking stupid do you have to be? I don't think having a Vagina is going to get her out of a bad situation she created, but you never know...The evul menz caused her to steal, swindle, break and enter, cheat, and do drugs.......

A good friend of mine who is also a single Dad related what happened when his ex-wife reappeared after 9 years and tried to regain custody of their son. Over a few pints Kurt detailed how his ex-wife came back and tried to gain custody and support payments after being gone 9 years with absolutely no communication between her and their 11 year old son.

Shortly after their divorce, the ex-wife fraudulently sold his vintage ’57 Corvette by breaking into his house and meeting the buyer outside with the title and keys. I know the car well; Kurt and I restored it from the wheels up. Kurt got his Corvette back, the guy who got suckered sued Kurt for theft by swindle, and the case was tossed because Kurt was a victim in the crime too. Kurt’s ex-wife disappeared and moved to Nevada with her new boyfriend and $27,000 in swindled funds.

9 years later, Kurt’s ex reappeared and took him to court to gain custody of their son and get support payments started. In the 9 years since he was divorced he went from being a body work technician at an automobile repair center to an owner of 2 body repair shops and a custom performance exhaust shop.

According to Kurt, the court amazingly was ready to grant his ex-wife custody and start child custody payments, even after 9 years of her absence with no contact whatsoever with her son.

At this point Kurt was laughing so hard that the last swig of Porter he took foamed out of his nose, quite hilarious actually. His ex-wife had forgotten about swindling the dude who tried to sue Kurt over the Corvette. There was an open FELONY arrest warrant for her.

In court, 2 sheriff’s deputies arrested Kurt’s ex. There were some more charges she was arrested on:

• Credit Card Fraud – She opened up several credit cards after taking off under Kurt’s credit, claiming they were still married. (Felony)
• Identity Theft – She stole his identity and used his credit to open up credit cards and get an apartment in Reno, Nevada (Felony)
• Wire Fraud (Felony)
• Flight to avoid prosecution for the grand theft by swindle case with the Corvette (Felony)
• Breaking and Entering for the purpose of theft (Felony)
• Damaged to private property in the commission of a crime (Felony)
• Narcotics possession – She actually brought a bottle of Oxycontin (not her prescription) in her handbag into court! (Felony)

And the final kicker: She had an open warrant for not paying child support for 9 years. You see, Kurt filed for child support after his ex ran off.

The DCS knew where she was, where she worked, but did absolutely nothing to garnish her wages or get Nevada law enforcement involved.

I’ve asked Kurt to come to the AMA forum and detail this situation in his own words. I think he will if he can stop laughing long enough to type it all out.

What is most telling is the obvious expectation that this woman harboured, that she could get away with a string of felonies and still claim the goody bag full of benefits and privileges that she obviously believed were her entitlement as the proud possessor of the p-pass. Where did that expectation come from?

And don't anyone here assume that she is going to be properly punished. We have not heard the end of this story yet. She might still get away with it, or most of it.

Got an update from Kurt last night over the ex's situation. The prosecutor in the case offered a plea deal to his ex. 3 Gross Misdemeanors with 1 year in work-release, Mandatory Drug Counseling, and 5 years probation. A good, but not great P-Pass for the Felonies she was accused of.

Kurt's ex stood a chance to get 10+ years if convicted even on 2 of the more serious charges.

The Judge refused to consider the plea deal. Kurt's ex? Well, her trial starts next week.

BTW: The Judge is a middle aged Asian-American woman.

Can't wait to hear more.

Spoke with Kurt this afternoon. His ex-wife accepted a plea deal that charged her with 1 felony for theft by swindle and 4 gross misdemeanors. She got a bit more than the 2 years the prosecutor asked for. The judge sentenced her to 6 years hard time, 2200 hours of community service, a $9000.00 fine, complete restitution of $27,000.00 to the guy she swindled with the Kurt's '57 Vette, and 10 years supervised probation with mandatory drug and alcohol counseling.

Not quite the 30 years she could have got, but at least the judge turned down the first P-Pass plea deal that only charged her with misdemeanors.

Kurt's satisfied. She also had her rights a a parent terminated.
And by the way, her charge for failure to pay child support was not in the plea deal. Imagine that.

Stories like this combined with the fact that women often come on here, to a men's forum meant to address men's issues, and blame us for being sexist and not the government that grants women all of these privileges to get away with such crimes.

This woman would likely get in way more trouble if she were a man.
