I joined Mensa in 1969, brokenjohnny, (In Cyprus, incidently, inducted by a rather pretty CIA agent girl who had excellent credentials, several arabic languages and two prominent personalities worn on her chest) and have maintained my membership to date. It was a proctored test too but since then, being in the trade, I have retested myself many times to chart the decline. I am afraid to say that Intelligence does drop off ! I am down into the 99.4th percentile now. Even absolute meaninglessness has its ups and downs.

Bob, have a chat with Bj above. He will be able to show you that 50% of men are as thick as two short planks and cannot be relied upon to change a light bulb, let alone invent one. Of the remaining 50%, some 2% have some very smart female company. (It thins out a bit above the 99th percentile).

On a more immediate note, there is a rather nice house just down the road from my modest rented hut on the mountain, wherin four young men - in their twenties - moved about three months ago. Two nights ago they moved out after totally wrecking the place. There is not an intact interior wall and all the windows are smashed. The toilet is missing, The sinks are missing.

Am I supposed to think of these examples of men as being better than women? They are more akin, in my mind, to frog's turds.

Some men are better than some women. Most men and most women I would not rate against even my turds.

No, women can APPEAR masculine, and ACT masculine, but it doesn't actually make them more like men. It merely overshadows their natural tendencies for unnatural ones.
Ah, I can answer this! As an artist, I've studied the human form for years and years, and tried to determine what makes a person attractive. This includes what makes them attractive if they are male, or if they are female. Both genders have the same connecting muscles. However, both genders are genetically predisposed to have different shapes and tone to certain muscle groups.

When I draw men, accentuating certain muscle groups is a like a dial for masculinity. The more I define them, they more "manly" they will naturally appear to whomever sees the drawing. The same goes for women. However, a woman's femininity comes less from muscle definition, and MUCH more from ratios and symmetry. Knowing which body parts relate to each other to form the symmetry of beauty is absolutely key when drawing the image of a women you want to convey beauty and femininity in. For instance, the ratio of waist width to hip width to thigh width all play off of each other very closely, and clearly define a woman's femininity from that of a man's masculinity. Throwing off those ratios is one of the easiest ways to draw a woman who looks less feminine.
Individual opinion doesn't dictate what is generally true for the rest of the world.
No single man is ever the authority. One must study how artist reproduced the images of men and women through out history to come to understand what the majority of the populous perceives as feminine and masculine. The authority isn't a few men. It is the accumulation of the opinion of every man who has ever lived.
It isn't so cut and dry as you would believe. Aside from the physical ratios which make a person visually appealing, there are hundreds of nuances in movement, and inflection in vocal tone which define femininity and masculinity.

There is no "perfect" body. There is only the "optimized" body. Everybody has a different opinion of what a perfect body would be. However, MOST people have the same opinion on what makes a GOOD body. To optimize your body, you work towards identifying your weaknesses, and building on your strengths.

So, now that that's out of the way, why did you feel the need to inform me that your IQ made you a better person? I can clearly point out how is doesn't make anybody a better person.


I'm not saying that every single man on the planet is 100% better than women 100% of the time. I am saying that men, as a gender, are better than women. This does not disclude the fact that some men are absolutely useless, and some women are incredibly insightful and brilliant.

But as a generalization, men are more effective humans than women. History, art, politics, invention, exploration, government, architecture, music, comedy, in all of these fields, men were at the forefront, and still are.


Don't get me wrong, both sexes are idiots. But men are better than women.

Percy. If you attend MENSA meetings or read the MENSA magazine you will know that the reason why there are so few female members is because there are proportionally so few highly intelligent females.

It may seem to those of us who are blessed with high IQ levels that half he population is "as thick as two short planks" but that goes as much for females as men. In fact I've had more trouble getting females to comprehend even basic concepts than men.

There are, of course, some men who aren't very bright, but the average intellegence performance for men is higher than the average for females. Some women can do many things, but the best at any field of endeavor is always men.

It has been claimed recently, without any real evidence, that men are the lowest intelligence as well as the highest. That seems to be an attempt to appologize to feminists for men's natural higher ability at reason and logic. IQ tests are designed to measure the highest intelligence, not the lowest. Anything in the bottom quarter just falls off the range of discrimination accuracy. So the claim that men are the least intelligent as well as the most intelligent has no foundation that I've seen. Overall men are some points higher in intelligence than females. How much higher is still being debated and the IQ scores depend on the particular test used.



Anecdotes are fine. I'm sure we could cite examples all day. Men, not women, built the house you mention, installed all the sinks and walls. Men, not women, will put new ones in. The animal house party place you describe has not been burned to the ground by some female who tossed her pile of dirty clothes too close to a heater like happened last week here. But anecdotes are not data.



Surely you are smart enough to compare the bottom men only against the bottom females, and the highest females only agaisnt the highest men.

Pointing to a few stupid men and saying that they prove all men are stupid is not a valid argument. When you line up all the men and rank from stupid to smart and do the same with females, the men are "on average" smarter (and less emotionally irrational) than the females.


On average, men are better than women, always have been, always will be. Women have never had to compete. They just sit around making babies (being women) and men take care of them. Thousans of generaions of not competing leades to lower standards.

I believe I know what brokenjohnny is saying. If you take something too far then it turns out bad. Same with body building, feminism and even femininity can be taken too far. Have you ever seen a woman so dainty that you refuse to whisper to her for fear of blowing her away? IMHO, femininity is more an attitude than a physical stance. If a woman is feminine per se, yet she has a masculine attitude, she becomes undesirable. Yet a woman who is slightly butch with a feminine attitude is more pleasant than the former. Two problems with too many American women is that they're are physically and mentally more masculine. Then they want to bash men for not finding them attractive by saying something like, "You got a problem with a strong woman."

For women to even compete against men, they need the big bully state to back them up, and even then men still out perform women.

Haven't we already done this? The men went to war (WWII) and the women????????? I don't know what happened where you lived but they didn't die where I live. In fact, they refused to go back into the kitchen.

Now, why would they do that Bob? Why didn't they beg to go back into the kitchen?

I have no idea where you live Julie, but where I live, the USA, almost all females who had taken industrial jobs during WW II abandoned their jobs and went back to being SAHMs. That feminist fiction about females refusing to quit their jobs is as wrong as the rest of feminist propaganda.

Females still to the same thing. As soon as they get married a huge percent of females quit their jobs and become SAHMs. (until they get bored because housekeeping doesn't hardly take any work any more. )
