I want to reintroduce myself.

This is my world, through my eyes and my experiences.

Australian men are the greatest in the world and I would defend them to the death. (in words and bitchiness) I can't believe feminism entered Australia. But yet Australian feminists are the most honest in saying that things have gone very wrong.

And of course they are. I would expect nothing less.

I refuse to hear the negative. So don't bother.

I will start in NZ and move back to Aussie when it is time. I will learn in NZ too as it is smaller.

But I want to tell you when my calling came. BTW, every Aussie gets this calling at some stage IMO. It was when I was a teenager and a song came over the radio. A song from a great Aussie man.

I have not been able to do anything until 2 years ago because I had other responsibilities. But here I am. And very ready, eager and determined. I chose the MRM because I have spent much of my life in pain and dysfunction over losing my father. I remember everything and I was only 4 years old. I was lied to after that and told he died but later learnt he didn't. This all came out through nightmares and getting so sick that I was shutting down physically and leaving doctors and hospitals dumbfounded as to what to do. It really was that bad for me. And I have phoned every number possible to find him and believe me when I say that it has cost me a lot of money.

But I spent my life with a hole inside me that nothing could fill and oh, how I tried to fill it. Plus I couldn't be my father for my mother as the eldest.

My pay off for this is that I heal through the fathers fighting for their children. The small child within me is so grateful for the opportunity.

Anyhow, this is when I knew my calling.

John Farnham-Age Of Reason

From the day that we were born we’ve been heading down a track
Sometimes it’s made for good sometimes for bad
But if we look behind us there’s a wave coming down
Carrying us forward to a new age

What about the world around us
How can we fail to see
And now that our fathers have gone
And we’ve been left to carry on
What about the age of reason

So why can’t we be still why can’t we love each other
Is kindness an ancient skill buried by our blindness
And if we look behind us there’s a wind blowing in
To create the age of reason

If we consider carefully the options put before us
So much wisdom so much love so much waiting for us
And if we look ahead there’s the sun and the seasons
Another day another age of reason

..............................

John Farnham - your the voice

We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we wanna write

We gotta make ends meet before we get much older.
We're all someone's daughter
we're all someone's son

How long can we look at each other down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice
try and understand it

Make a noise and make it clear

We're not gonna sit in silence

We're not gonna live with fear

This time we know we all can stand together

With the power to the powerful

believing we can make it better.
We're all someone's daughter
we're all someone's son

How long can we look at each other down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice
try and understand it
. . .

We're all someone's daughter
we're all someone's son

How long can we look at each other down the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice
try and understand it
. . .
You're the voice
try and understand it
. . .
You're the voice
try and understand it
. . .

Re-Welcome, Julie.

Are you anything like the last one? Or are you a third?

I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it.
But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up.
I am outnumbered.
But...
YOU don't just make a difference,
you make THE difference.

There are 2 ways to take this comment.

But I choose neither.

I am going to go my own way. So I am not like the last nor a third.

Re: I want to reintroduce myself.

Julie, thank you for sharing that. Your story explains your passion, and your occasional confusion .

I think everyone has suffered personal loss, some more devastating than others. That's just part of life. We can choose to wallow in self-pity, or we can grow as spiritual beings. It's not an easy road.

I'm not expressing myself very well. I guess what I'm saying is that, in spite of your pain, or maybe because of it, you have chosen growth.

Kelly, thanx. I think you expressed yourself just fine. And anyhow, I know you know what I know. It is a good place to be when amongst knowledge.

Percy, I want to come back to this because I felt weird reading it yesterday. And I think it is because of your insight.

I love your insight (I could listen to you for days) but sometimes it scares me. I feel uncomfortable with people who work out other people. And yet, the day I am worked out is the day hell will freeze over. (just a saying)

I always live on the fringe. I am well known for it.

So, in answer to your question, I can only say that I am not the last nor a third but 200% better than the last and the third cannot exist. There is only one way and that is up.

Everything that needs to be done is scary but it is best explained this way.

Man can only do so much until one man does more. Then every man can do more. But still another man breaks that barrier and then all can do it once again.

Always the leaders have the challenge to walk where no man has been. And to be honest; whether man or woman, just breaking a barrier is so exiting and filled with so much adrenaline that it is addictive.

And me with an addictive nature ... I was born to break the barriers.

Re: I want to reintroduce myself.

"Australian men are the greatest in the world a"

I live here and totally disagree

the men here are boozers

football addicted or gambling on horses or poker machines

lots of them smoke the weed

Aussie men have feet of clay - can't be trusted as far as you can throw them

they are tittle tats

they are "bounced " by the wimin" Australian wimin treat their husbands like their eldest son

Australian men need to be told what to do by their wimin ( who act like their Mommas )

40% are paying child support

lots are gay

have strong feelings of inferiority to foreign men

dead from the neck up - typically Australian men are called "Ockers " their main interests are summed up in a song " football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars"

they go out shooting the kangaroos and pigs and typically cut off the paws so they can talk about them later ha ha

of course there are a few exceptions as always

maybe that is why there are so many dykes in this country cause the wimin are so disappointed with their menfolk

this was the case pre feminitism so I can't blame the feminits

Thomas Jefferson once said "It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good."

Feminuts are stupid, throw some common sense at them. They won't know what hit them.

Re: I want to reintroduce myself.

Jools, you have my respect.

I don't analyse people; well not much beyond what we all do to assess someone we share a space with.

You are an irritating woman but that it seems is your great strength. I can imagine you irritating your way through great adversity and all the hurdles that would, frankly, make me angry and whack someone. (You, probably! As I often do !). You would just carry on, plodding and shoving your way through beaurocracies and red tapes and other irritating people, doggedly pursuing your particular ends and shooting from the lip. You have a grand spirit, even if difficult to pidgeonhole.

I would place you somewhere near the front of a fighting formation, just for your tenacity.

And there is a heart there. Even if sometimes it appears misplaced, you always seem to have a rationale for it that is not in my experience. Indeed, your experiences are quite unique and educational for us all.

After all this time of us both being here, I have not figured you out. I don't know which side of the divide you live on, believe in. Your feet are doggedly in both camps. You revere women and their negative features a shade too much for my liking, but then I love women too. I differentiate between women a little more to my comfort. It is a very different aspect we gravitate to. You have great sympathy and a hint of real empathy for men too. In a short encounter with you a person might not see it, almost buried as it seems to be underneath your female peculiarities of thought and expression.

I guess that is my main difficulty with you. Your manner of expression. We each have our own but yours tends to wobble around like a dodgy spinning top, demanding a wide berth.

All that being said, I like you.

Why would I bother to talk to you if I didn't?

You are not a man's woman. I see you as one who is better lead by and working with a strong woman. I could see you being just as much an irritant to and great colleague (apprentice?) of someone like Wendy MacElroy, who would whack you back into shape more easily than anyone here is able to do. She would demand a lot of you, wheras here, no-one demands much at all. I could see you arguing and learning a huge amount from someone like Jennifer Morse. She is single-minded but backed by a tremendous intellect. I admire both of those women greatly. They are doers too. Very effective doers. You could certainly learn a great deal from them - especially clarity of thought and expression.

If I may be personal for a moment ( ) that shooting from the lip is the main irritant. you really need to practice with 1000 word essays to learn how to construct arguement and detachment. You won't lose touch with yourself but you might find it a means to increase your clear power and find other fine elements of that indefatigable Julie.

Enough. !

Re: I want to reintroduce myself.

Shazaam, that really is harsh to say about Aussie men.

My son is Aussie, my bothers and my Grandfather are Aussies and many of my old crowd are Aussie. They might not be highly educated but they sure work hard and are quite successful. Some major successful.

NZ people over here think Aussies are cool and we are BTW.

I guess much has changed in Australia since I was living there. Maybe NZ has the most masculine. In fact it is somewhat hated with the gangs.

I don't know what has happened but I like the guys I know.

........

BTW, what about AFL footy. It was much better when it was just VFL. Before that guy bought the Sydney Swans as a gift for his girlfriend.

In my home if your team lost to a sibling's team ... you better not come home that night. We had 2 cheer squads in our home. They were great days.

Anyhow the Olympics start tomorrow. That should be interesting to show the greatness in the country. Australia usually does well with Gold medals.

.............

Percy, I have enough to do. Taking on the men in prison on rape charges is going to make my already work very thin. But I do have to try and do what I set out to do on the first place.

It will be nice to see others start DOING ACTION. Until then I don't care whether I should be better at expressing myself online.

For me to add talking online to feminists is going to push me over the edge with lack of energy and support.

BTW, thanx for the nice words of description. But really it is not about me not choosing sides. Men don't deserve a cheer squad until they get of their toosh and start making a movement. If women are the only ones who are going to do this then women need far more support and respect than men.

Sorry Percy, but I am a realist. I can't be bothered with all talk and no action.

A saying my mother used to say to men, "Show me, don't tell me".
