Having found my way here via links found on a Daily Telegraph article relating to the overly-moaned-about gender pay gap, I sense immediately a certain level of belonging and identity; concentrated common sense, at long last..... Anyway, now for the (slightly corny, perhaps) basics: I'm 25, and reside in the southwesterly city of Exeter, England. I am not a misogynist; I would imagine that a good majority of you aren't, either, yet will be only too familiar with the idea of having to emphasise this, given that the term now seems to be bandied about to the extent that anyone who has the 'audacity' to question feminism, or pretty much any group of women, ever, is labelled automatically with it. My gripe tends not to be with women, so much as a society which favours them constantly, whilst somehow still pupporting to favour men. A society which throws a hissy-fit at the slightest of things that are said against women, yet which condones and even encourages sexism against men. A society which teaches males to place females on pedestals, and females to ridicule males. A society which condemns severely traditional practices which favour men, yet which upholds totally practices which favour women. I look forward to reading about all of your logical, unbrainwashed thoughts. | ||||

You got it dyslexic_banana. Welcome. You will find mostly common sense here, and reason and humour too. Just ordinary regular guys like you and me. You are right we are not misogynistic. We oppose hate speech or stupid talk or violence in any shape or form. For me anti-misandry means anti-hate. I come here because in part it assures me I am not going mad, and I am not alone in observing ALL around me -- all that you describe. feminism is a disease the Doc is working on a cure. Symptoms include compulsive liar, constant aggression, allergic to logic, often affects women who are fat with short hair and big earings, but can be normal looking. Reason tablets three taken daily. If the sufferer displays shaming tactics double the dose. Remarkably the illness disappears in disaster zones. Last edited by bola; 5th-February-2008 at 04:52 PM.. If you click the plain quote, it will automatically go into a reply screen with the quoted text included (which you can then remove the unecessary parts of).. However, if you click the quote+ (multiquote) button it will change colour and await you to add more quote+s or hit reply... By using the multiquote function, it encapsulates each quoted entry within it's own identifer although within a single post, as oppose multiple posts. HTH
