Hi everyone. My name is Luke, I'm living in rural South Australia, Australia and working as a men's health worker. It is an opportune time to contribute to this forum as my role has been discontinued by the Director of the hospital here so the funding could be redirected to the acute sector. As I mentioned in my profile the last 18 months have been like an epiphany with cotton wool being removed from my eyes so that I can see clearly. I think demonising and belittling of men is so ingrained and accepted in Western cultures that it's hard to know where to start the trend reversal. Many people have been passive and compliant while 40 years of feminist ideology has dominated political and social policy. We now see astronomical suicide rates, marriage breakdown, fatherless children, behavioural and learning problems with boys the likes we have never seen before. What upsets me the most about this is how being male or masculinity is seen as a viable and real explanation for these inequalities. The feminists are so adept at turning any argument around so we concentrate on the plight of women that men forget (or are made to ignore) that they are literally dying because of injustice. It's time we stand up collectively demand a fair and equal society for men and boys.   | |||
