Hello. Just a brief note to introduce myself. I'm a divorced dad -- my son is 9 years old. His mother and I have been absolutely appalled by the way that the public schools are treating boys. Everything from classroom behavioral expectations, to curriculum design is heavily slanted towards the girls, and it's just crazy. As a result of many run-ins with the teachers and administration, I became more acquianted with some of the literature on this, and this eventually led me to sites like this one. Hopefully I can learn quite a but from the rest of you, and maybe even share a thing or two of my own. N   | ||||

Greetings and welcome to the site... What you observe is something well known to our circles, yet still denied (even recently in a letter to my local college) by feminists who ARE in a position to help promote more even-handed facilities. Clearly, feminism won't help seek equality, despite it's claims, and so we will have to do so under our own steam. But that's ok, it will be considerably more satisfying

It's good to see 'both' mothers and fathers recognizing "The war on boys" as described by Christina Hoff Summers, that's taking place within the schooling system. For a myriad of reasons parents are too trusting of academia. This has proven to be a mistake, certainly where boys are concerned. Feminists it seems have no moral qualms about "deliberately" failing a whole generation of boys, such is the potency of their misandry! As a concerned father you are well within you're rights to enquire why your son is being shortchanged at school. Welcome to the forum.

Yes, I agree that my son is very fortunate that his mother and I agree on these things. She's a very smart, strong, independent woman who has no time for gender feminism in the least. I do agree that it is insane what is happening in the classrooms. I think many people are just clueless about what is happening there, or simply feel reluctant to raise objections. More people need to be objecting. A lot more. Glad to have found this site by the way, lots of interesting topics and discussions here. | ||||

I am pleased you found this forum. There is much that is disgusting going on in our schools. You can see it on the boys faces how repressed they are.

Welcome. I hope you aren't considering the Madrassa down the road for your lad. One can take anti-feminism a bit far. Is he too old for the Jesuits? Now,THEY know how to educate.
