So how come I'm suddenly getting 50 e-mail messages from antimisandry.com telling me that someone posted a message?

What gives with the e-mail?

I get that every Sunday...supposedly threads I've subscribed to (and I don't recall having done so).

I just delete 'em.

Follow the "edit options" link on the left sidebar in your User CP. There's a section that says:

Default Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
Default Thread Subscription Mode:

Make sure it is set to "Do not subscribe"
