Hi Karl, It's good to see the board is progressing. Lots of guys post under various names on different boards but I like the style of this one. N. American boards range from the sublime to the ridiculous but we all have a common cause and I'd love to see a Brit board get ahead for a change. Anyway, my question is this: what determines your title on this board? For several posts I was 'New Member'. When I put up some new posts that got a response I was suddenly promoted to 'MRA'. Suddenly I'm 'top banana poster' !! Some boards I've worked for years without any kind of accolade. However your formula works, I'm flattered. Thanks! There's nothing like encouragement! | ||||

my plan is very basic. first, to explain how the 'new poster' then moves up, and up to new levels. It's actually entirely automated. I set up a criteria within the forum so it monitors how many users make posts. the generic levels are: new member: need to make 1 post MRA : need to make 10 posts Top banana poster: needs 25 posts Super MRA: needs 50 posts He-Man: needs 100 posts. Sorry to burst any bubbles, but it is entirely automatic process by the board itself. I think the reason nothing much happens on other boards is because they either have too high expectations of their users (eg needing 1,000 posts just to get 'regular' under their name, then 5,000 to get 'good buddy' or whatever ranks they've set - knowing they only have 50 members and only 20% post, and that only 2 or 3 visit daily - that's just silly), OR they simply cannot be bothered with setting their board up properly (to allow ranks). This is one of the reasons i ask users to log in prior to posting, so the post is accredited to their membership details, and hence 'upping' them to the next rank. Then, there are unique ranks. The 'site-admin' was created by me, to identify myself to users and give authority to anyone else who i think deserves it (i.e. atm that would be little glutton). I have one set for my wife too, sexilicious wife of karl, and then one for any regular feminists 'pro/feminist'. There is also 'honoured members' set aside for contributers of high volume attention (eg angry harry & duncan idaho), and then finally 'moderator' is set aside for moderators. The latter entries are not able to be acquired through posts, but by dedicated entry by the site-admin's. However, regardless of what's what - i really appreciate your input on the ranks and how they are perceived. It's good to know they're working!! Keep up the good work, you've only got another 22 posts to make and you'll be a "Super MRA" ![]() BTW, as time goes by, i do keep an eye on contributors of the board.. i'm looking for forum-specific moderators (to ease little glutton's and my work), not right now, but as the board becomes busier and busier. It might be done via vote or registered users (if the user vote a member in, it shows respect & wishes of the users), or perhaps by discussion between lg and myself. A lot of things i do, i kind of do 'spur of the moment'.

Many thanks Karl, it sounds like 'open government'!! What's more it gives me inspiration to watch the board and that's what it's all about. Good thinking Batman!! Lots of Brits(& 'colonial' brothers) have been posting American boards for years because they couldn't find an alternative. Now there is one. The free flow of information between English-speaking boards ( BTW the most infected by feminism) can only be a good thing. As the cart-horse said, ' I will work harder!'
