Color Me BAFFLED On All The Closed Threads????

I don't want to make more mistakes about where some article can go and have a thread close - several were closed yesterday.

Apart from the thread I think you were referring to (you failed to confirm this in you're reply), to which I explained above - unless Karl can correct me, none of you're threads would be closed. Moved to a more appropriate forum (with a pertinent link for ease of access), yes. But closed, as in deleted, NO!

Two or three had been closed last night, not sure what the present status is now. They all had an abrupt comment at the end of some sort. Such as: "Oh look, an area JUST for this kind of news article!!!! Maybe people can start posting in the proper places - just once in a while, maybe?" and with the status changed to closed which is what baffled me. They do not seem to have been moved if that was the problem...that they were in the wrong mail slot so to speak. Just a comment and then closed out, noone can comment there. So I started this thread.

Both of those say "closed". Both articles seemed worth sharing to me and of topical interest. Maybe they have been copied and moved to a new area I have not checked but they show up as closed in the "Today's Posts" screen.

I'm fine with them being moved somewhere...as long as readers can see them and comment if they'd like.

To me it seems that sharing current events is kind of complex here in that there are many places for news articles to go. If you make a mistake there is a comment and the thread gets closed. Then there are blog mirrors as Kim noted.

I'd like to be able to see the news in one place. Maybe I am still BAFFLED but it looks like we have the daily paper spread out all over the place. Front page blew down the street, section two of the newspaper is completely missing, section three is in the mailbox, section four is in my hand...

Stan, the forum is quite black & white. It has pointers to try and help navigate people to the correct place to make a new post, most people manage it quite sufficiently.

It would seem the reason you are having problems locating the proper place is because, as I've already mentioned, you use an incorrect location to make new threads from.
