Women Resented In The Military. 'Most military jobs are open to women - and they have earned respect within the forces for their professionalism' (Daily Mail headline). A soldier replies, ... I've heard many such comments and I'm afraid to say it is simply not true. The truth is that the presence of women is bitterly resented by the vast majority of men in the Armed Forces. I know this having served myself for seven years. Life in the army in particular is often a very harsh existence and all too often the women are just not strong enough. I have seen female radio operators unable to erect a radio mast unaided - a vital part of the job. This is just one example. Furthermore, when on operations, the men become instinctively protective of the women and this is an extra burden they do not need. The inevitable sexual relations causing jealousy, fights, broken marriages etc. do nothing for morale and effectiveness either. The situation is made much worse when good soldiers are passed over for promotion so that a certain number of women can gain a stripe in order to fill the PC quotas. However much people would wish it to be so, the men do not respect the female service personnel. They resent their presence deeply and bitterly. I'm not in the military, but I'm a member of my town's volunteer fire department and I see (and feel) the exact same thing myself. The company I'm a member of has about 25 members, 22 men and 3 women. One of the women is older, so she mostly does administrative paperwork. I have absolutely no problem with that. It's the others that I resent. There are guys in that company who are in their early twenties who know a ton of stuff about firefighting. I'd trust them with anything. I can't say the same for the young women (18-23) who are members of my company and other companies. Their physical strength is nothing compared to the male members, so much so that during drills, they're frequently unable to lift the equipment, and instead watch. If they're not effective during a drill, what exactly is going to make them effective during a real fire, auto accident, etc.? The stupidity of our world never ceases to amaze me... Camaraderie is another critical aspect of the fire service, and also the military, I assume. As a new firefighter, I'm just breaking in to the group, and I have a lot of fun hanging out with those guys. There are females who've been members for years and years, and make no effort to join the community. I can't even understand why they'd want to be firefighters if they're ineffective and antisocial, but hey, that's my perspective. I see a ton of resentment towards them; the male firefighters in my company know what they're doing, and they resent females who have years as members and still can't do things properly.

Not only that, but in the military women are held to different standards. We women are physically not as strong as men, it's the way it is, and all the whining from the feminazis won't change it. Plus men typically want to PROTECT women, which can actually cost you on the battlefield.

Right you are, hon. Women should work on having a good life as women, and stop trying to be men. That never will work and causes a ton of grief for everyone involved. Blessings Bob

Because women are lazy and demand to be provided for and protected? Believe me men are not crying over not getting the opportunity to do so. the fact that you believe men want to shows how most women have this delusional idea that men want to serve them. What a joke. And no its not that much trouble. hence why women take the easier role and men die 5 years earlier. at best women can just appreciate men. and that's for the best women.

Feminists do not really believe these women can do just as good a job as the men. Their objective is simply to get their flunkies in and keep them there long enough to get seniority and quota promotions. Eventually, they will be in charge of the men, the way Judy Dench (M) is in charge of James Bond. It's about men answering to women bosses in all areas. No all-male bastions; No male-only enclaves; You Dig??? This must be challenged vigorously and consistently.

Expecting women to be just as good as men in combat situations is retarded. I mean, I go to the gym five days a week and I can squat more than my body weight. I bet that I'm in a better shape than most women in the army and the average male GI would outsquat me easily. And with all the new gizmos that soldiers have, physical strength is still really important. And if I'd be a man, I wouldn't respect a weak soldier that gets in my way that much, male or female.

You should be preaching to the feminists, they are the ones who opened that can of worms. We are just trying to give them what they want....equality.

I don't think they want equality. That was the 1960's rip-off of the civil rights movement. They have since morphed into wanting nothing less than power and control.

However, giving them equality would call their bluff. That is the public face they wear, that they want equality.

Then give up your right to vote and serve men. As Percy has said before even when men fight one side loses. let women form their own units. But you do bring up an intresting point. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height The average height of men in Vietnam is 5'3.8" and in Korea it is 5'5.2". Yet out 5'10" + armed forces lost both wars. So your strength argument really doesn't apply. Without equality men would suffer though as we are right now.
