The only negative, due it's sexism, comment they allowed to be published, they mocked - I wonder if they'd mock a complaining if the genders were inverted?

The bold text is their comments - none of the other 'reviews' (which were positive) were commented on... odd, eh.

I feel particularly agrieved by this . It was posted onanother site by someone "as a joke" . The comments from people were full of "Oh isn't it funny etc" . I complained and was flamed

This product is sick and offensive ,has anyone reported it to the police ?

Apologies if it looks like I am bringing a row from another site over , that's not the intention .
On the board that this "product" was 1st mentioned (much to the pure joy of many of the women on it ) the original thread has just , after a good few months been pulled .
I sent a messahe on there on Sunday , feeling really low , hinting that I might actually take my own life (I realise this was wrong ) . That thread was pulled after 3 days !
Rule on feminist message boards is clear , If you are a woman it is perfectly acceptable to post a thread encouraging murder . If you are a man , who has dared to speak hi mind ,don't even think about posting a plea for support !!!!!
BTW , if this post has broken any rules ,feel free to delete .

This is more Harry's area so I leave it in his good hands.

But to address one point: If you're experiencing particularly unhealthy thoughts, do get the help required. Do not sit idly by and allow them to manifest into a reality.

We don't need to know your personal reasons (unless you're happy to express them in 'chit-chat' or perhaps 'help' portion of this forum, but you do need to vent and blow some steam occasionally.

Well, I've just taken a look at the site and the feedback and there are mixed reviews - one man thinks it's sexist, one man thinks it's funny and named it after a neighbour - it seems he and his wife enjoyed scaring the mother-in-law with it, who thought it was tasteless, one woman thinks it's a good venting tool about horrible people (she does name men or males in the sense of an ex-boyfriend, but taxman is more about the money than the fact that he's a man - I'm assuming anyway).

A range of views.

IMHO:

1) If I just saw it on a shelf I'd simply think it was a bit of dark humor - although it's in the shape of a man, rightly or wrongly, I don't associate it with a male specifically in the same sense I don't associate male based generic words solely with men, eg mankind, man-hole cover, man overboard etc.

2) The name of the block does supply another context for it than I might otherwise have considered - 'All Men Are Bastards' does put a different slant on it for me.

3) If the block was in the shape of a woman, what would I think?

I think I'd think the same - If the block was named 'All women Are Bitches' I'd pretty uncomfortable with it - I'd think it was aggressive and inappropriate.

If it was named 'Another Bad Day At the Office' I'd probably think it a bit gruesome, but smile.

Imagine this was in the shape of a woman with"all women are bitches" printed on it ,and Harry put it on his website saying "hey guys what do you think of this" complete w/th "smiley" images ,what would the reaction be ?

He would be inundated with hate mail & probably be investigated by the police!! Yet a woman put this image on another board I frequent ,
along with the message "how about this for Christmas ,girls ??

I protested,and was flamed . All sorts of excuses were used such as "it was only fun "
being that someone
had been stabbed ouside my workplace only a few nights before I considered these comments in very bad taste .
I know I shouldn't say this ,but I sometimes hope that
any one who found this funny becomes a victim of violence themselves!!!!then they would see how funny stabbing is!

As I have said before , the grief I got when I complained at the message board ,where it was 1st posted was amazing . I was even accused of "hounding" the "sweet elderly lady" that had originally posted it !!

I'm in absolute with 'ram charger' here - regardless how blatantly obvious the misandry is, no-one (of authority) gives two hoots.
Realistically, if they'd have released the mock-up (all women are bitches knifeblock), there would be outrage and it WOULD be pulled off the shelves quicker than you could blink in shock at seeing an misogynistic product.

Prologue:
I run a forum with probably about 75% female membership. As most of them are highly educated and intelligent and have the least to complain about male oppression, there is of course also a abundance of feminists there. (Logical, eh?) and a few feminist men too.
Though my site and forum has nothing to do with feminist issues those still come up every now and then - in the offtopic part.

Recently the subject of "women are discriminated in the jobworld" came up. My initial response of "hogwash" and "nonsense" wouldn't do, so I had to do some research to come up with facts, figures and arguments. Thats how I found this site in the first place. After posting my factbased response the usual followed - ridiculing, offending, ignoring, denying, belittling etc. - you know.

the story:

Now I set up a little experiment or shall I say trap :-D , cause I love to reveal feminist hypocrisy

I took the above excellent photoshopwork without the explaining addendum, posted it, said I am appauled, and ask what people think about it.
I expect male and female members to be equally appauled - and quite rightly so. blahblah about violence and oppression against women will follow.

In due course I will reveal the truth.
I wonder about the reaction.
1.) will some of them contradict themselves in the same thread (e.g. the woman-thing is awful, the male-thing is just harmless fun)?
2.) will they admit, that this is still awful and that there are double-standards?
3.) will suddenly nobody post anymore and ignore it
4.) ????

What do you think?

I'll keep you updated and let you know (my site is german and I don't expect anybody here to understand anything there)
