What always makes me wonder is why being told you cannot see your kids or have contact with them for vast periods of time between the court appointed periods is in any way something to celebrate..

We need judges and all those other parasites to lay down this shit on us?

    pfft!
I started out an optimist, but nothing turned out right..
Then I became a pessimist, but thats a life of shite..
I sucked at being a realist, 'cos folks will always fight..
So now I'm saying "fuck this shit!" I'd rather sleep at night!!

In most cultures, the lineage and standing of the father's family is paramount, one of the cornerstones of the legitimacy of the relations that produced the children. Removing at a whim every vestige of children's paternal heritage and identity is a way of stealing their souls and embarking on a life that reduces their coming from a man's proud and supportive family to a scolding comment that precedent says she is bound to make daily for the next forty years: 'you're acting just like your father', an epithet thrown routinely in their faces that says they are only half-real, half-human, half-worthy, half-loved.
    Well said.

The 'you're just like your father' calumny so readily bandied around by mothers to degrade, is a means by which boys on an already difficult path are further setback by the mothers unwitting sabotage of their sons confidence. I'm not saying it doesn't happen with fathers, but it's not only less socially acceptable for fathers to similarly mock mothers using children as a vehicle to achieve that, but I believe fathers are naturally far less predisposed to do so.

Here's a novel idea, why don't parent's reinforce something positive the child does and then associate it with something mum or dad does similar? Is it really that difficult?
