    MRA Melbourne Opening for Activism

Some good news from Melbourne, we've formed our own MRA group.

Here's some press about this: Four brothers in my inbox | A Voice for Men

So far we have a room, 6 MRAs, heaps of enthusiasm, a plan and there'll be more on AVfM and AVfM Radio about us this week. We're keen to recruit more MRAs from around Melbourne and the rest of Victoria. More hands make light work. If you're interested send me a private message with an email address and we'll get in contact with you. If you have skype that would be excellent too as we use Skype a lot for organising purposes.

I'll post more updates here in the future.

Oh and here's an example of some of Melbourne's activism so far, thanks to this fembot who introduced thousands more people to the MRA: professorofthaumology: goforthandagitate: ...

    Cheers,

ALways good to see MRA's getting together and working co-operatively..

All I can say is, don't waste too much energy arguing the toss with feminists, its futile..gathering men and growing the awareness and developing strategies that men can use effectively to bring gains for men is what I think is best..

    Good luck sir!

What is your plan of action? Monthly meetings with a speaker and a discussion around a key topic? Maybe advice for (divorcing) dads, etc, or those who are victims of various forms of feminist harressment?

richard, there are many groups of men in the uk (numbering over 6 participants..).. They are mostly "stale" and in a dire state of failed misery.. The biggest group of men is probably the femistate backed and supported families need fathers.. sitting around over a beer and chatting and moaning is what they do best..

There motto seems to be "making fathers into feminised blue pill popping happy victims of the family courts for the good of the femistate"..

(Hang on, maybe thats the second best thing they do, or the third if you put grovelling in court ahead of whining about their own case on the web ahead..)

They tend to submit to the paradigm they feel trapped in and spend all their energies dealing with the enemies as grovelling "clients" of the system they don't respect.. The proof of "success" in any groups surely has to be that they grow, are recognised and make an impact big enough to get mainstream media attention and more interest from the public.. leading to more growth and development..

Any new group is a cause to be pleased, and a promise of hope, lets hope some enthusiasm to do the business is generated and this and any other prospective groups can grow and work well in their aims.

Yes, I am aware of FNF and as you say they have been "incorporated" into the system.

We need a critical and dynamic group that questions very basic assumptions and models.

But it keeps boiling down to "what is to be done" - how are we to move forward? What actions?

I dont think the Melbourne group will go the way of FNF. With luck at least it will raise some men's consciousness and bring debates from AM to that group?

Re: MRA Melbourne Opening for Activism

what happens in a group is very much dependant on the forces and drives of the personalities within the group..

those that get down to work, will usually find they lay the tracks for the group to follow, or to abandon..

its easy to form a "centre ground" femifriendly group, and pad out the numbers with "softs" and women, even get a few lawyers and other "professionals" willing to come along and sell their wares at the price..

to start "hard" and stay "hard" is... hard..

Re: MRA Melbourne Opening for Activism

I hate to be secretive about the details, but this is a public forum and directed hate attacks again MRAs are not unheard of. Personal details of members and information about the whereabouts of our meeting locations are being kept secret for the time being. We are having weekly meetings at the moment, and our first priority is to focus on consolidating MRAs support in the Melbourne region. We already have several public awareness campaigns at the discussion phase and I'm working on some new material to disseminate shortly. Our first programs will be focussed on recruiting the younger men so that our movement will have a new generation to follow us as well as directly challenging mainstream media support of feminism and misandry.

We have several other exciting projects, but they are still being worked on and are dependent on the skills and manpower we are able to attract to the cause. For example, if we get the manpower we will be in the position to open up men's shelters and a support centre for men in family crisis. That's why networking and recruitment is so important right now. If you can think of any Melbourne or Victorian based MRAs let us know.

Also we are forming links with other MRAs and MRM related groups in other Australian states, for example I will be heading to Tasmania next week to meet with some MRAs there and provide them with protest materials for their own activities. Trips to other states are also at the planning stage. Hopefully we'll have an example of a working model for MRA groups in other countries sorted out in the next few weeks.

If you're an Australian MRA feel encouraged to contact me too and we'll work you into our plans when visiting each state capital. But I'll post details of future interstate visits once we have those better organised.

I don't think I can say anything more without overstepping my authority to speak for the group.

This is a good update. Perhaps, once you get the wrinkles ironed out, you could see about sharing techniques and methods so groups elsewhere can learn from your experiences.

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.
Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."
