    A woman of bad character

A tasty peice from my local rag.

Here a woman describes herself as having extraordinary strength of character, but has been nobbled for being a liar and a cheat, thief and adultress.

It is amazing how people see 'character' these days.

It is like Oz gangsters being referred to in the press as 'Colourful Sydney Racing Personality', when 'Bastard' would be a far more precise headline.

    Racy memoir exposes author

    ZARA DAWTREY | May 24, 2012 12.01am

A 62-YEAR-OLD Lindisfarne woman who detailed her relationship with her live-in husband in a published autobiography is facing jail time for conning Centrelink out of $200,000-plus by claiming a single person's disability pension.

In an apparent show of audacity, the grandmother released her book, Breaking The Mould, last year after it had been seized as key evidence against her ongoing denials that she was in a relationship.

    ..................................

"Joy's story is honestly, frighteningly and realistically portrayed. It is one of extraordinary strength of character and one that led her through a fascinating career and life, completely different to that into which she had been born," the book's Facebook page promises.

The court heard Leary's book had a chapter entitled "My Life, My Loves and My Temper", which provided a detailed account of her long-standing relationship with her husband from the time they married in 1969.

She went on to admit to multiple affairs. According to her lawyer, Leary is now trying to divorce him because she is in a relationship with another man.

    .....................................

Justice Alan Blow remanded Leary in custody to be sentenced on June 1.

Character is made by what a person does, not what they look like.
Our society puts a premium on beauty; common in declining cultures.

Women rarely have "character.." They don't usually need to develop a personality as such, as there is never much expected of them other than they just do what they are told and believe what they are told to believe..

The "village bike", the "strong woman".. What else is there?

Most women impress with their looks and thats about it..

Now and then, a Florence Nightinggale type comes along, but hey, how often is a woman famed for her "character"?

Maybe Princess Diana? (Hang on, best not make comments about her "character" out of respect for her sons..)
