I live in this area, and have met this woman's husband, although I have never met the woman herself. I was really shocked, because the community they live in (where I grew up) is very wealthy. I have never heard of anything like this going on there.

I bought a copy--second hand of course, as didn't want to feed the hand that bites me .

I've not had chance to read it in detail. (I'm currently reading "The Woman Racket", which is thick enough to take me a year!)

In terms of the photographs, there's nothing truly hardcore or shocking in there. Most of the photographs of naked young men were in the public domain anyway, and many other pictures are of naked male statues from antiquity.

A casual look at the text gives the impression that it is a scholarly discussion of maleness throughout history, however, I have noticed that she frequently slips into extolling feminist dogma. One thing that stuck in my mind was that she described boyhood as a perversity.

So no--there's no shock horror pictures in there, however, I do find many of them distasteful. Certainly, if a man published an equivelent book about young girls, it would be condemned at the very least. Having said that, I find many of the images of young girls in pop culture distasteful, but that's considered girl empowerment. It's a very mixed up world we live in.

I agree. Yes, its Texas...but this woman's husband is a wealthy lawyer. (Of course if he has even half a brain, he would divorce her). Still, any information about this case will probably be suppressed as best as possible. People in this wealthy community take care of their own. Erika Perdue did not go to jail, she was in an expensive treatment center, which is where rich people go when they behave badly. However, I recently read online that she was kicked out of this treatment center for making threats.

If you set out from a sexist perspective whereby you assume 'it is rare for women to be involved in child porn/distribution' then you ensure the stereotype continues.

I recall one story, on this forum, whereby a Nordic investigation uncovered 20+ women involved in child porn where police were chasing just one man.

Let's not forget the Vagina Monologues is a platform for predatory old feminist hags to predate upon underage girls and glorify in it.

Time to overturn dangerous stereotypes.

I did know this womans husband...that is all I will say. I will also say I did not/don't know him very well, but know enough that this is a wealthy family, old money (not her, but her husband). That is why I knew there would never be any more publicity coming from this. I do, however, believe that she should be required to register as a sex offender. I will check the local registries and see if she's on it, but I bet dollars to donuts she is NOT.
