What is the most important thing we need to do to help the movement win?
Individualism: Our disunity is our strength. Others have tried and couldn’t do it, so why waste time. Going your own way means going your own way and not letting someone tell you what going you own way means. - 23.81%
5 Votes
The Courts are our Friends: By working through the courts and not at the ballot boxes, all we have to do is appeal to the UN and EU and they will come down on governments to give men their human rights. - 0%
0 Votes
Media Stunts: Stunts like F4J have gotten us on the map or gotten us in the ball game. We should stick with a good thing and not expanded it onto others things and await events to change our way naturally. - 9.52%
2 Votes
Political Party: Appeal to the masses first and win at the ballot box. We need to keep wild ideas, and the MRAs that come up with them, under limited control, and then get involved in politics in a serious way with our own MRA party. - 14.29%
3 Votes
MRA Bureaucrats: Become some of the bureaucrats ourselves and not be corrupted by the system and set things right with the power that hampers us now - 0%
0 Votes
Sway the Media: Win the media to our views. They simply don’t know how badly men are suffering and if we talk nice to them they will become more sensitive to men’s feelings. Getting angry about ads showing men in a bad light is good too. - 9.52%
2 Votes
Purposeful Slacker: Running on the spirit of the moment is a fine course of action. Don’t email others and me so much, and don’t ask me to do anything very much (or on time). We need to just wing it and not be so intense to win. - 0%
0 Votes
Size Does Matter: We should join the biggest organization of MRAs and move it to our own ideas. The largest is the ACFC for example. Then with sheer numbers we will be too big to ignore anymore. - 9.52%
2 Votes
Intelligentsia 1st: Find the MRAs that can work together in deeds (with give & take) at whatever level they want, moving from small deals to larger ones- earning trust as you go. Numbers come later. - 4.76%
1 Vote
MWOB (My Way or Bust): Do it my way for I’m the smartest, or oldest, or least jaded and have more charisma than anyone. I can’t tell everyone my ideas because you won’t understand them, and our enemies will stop their success. - 0%

Radical Revolutionary: The establishment will not move until it is afraid. You can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs. Do I need to spell it out for you? I’ll say no more! - 28.57%

Feminist Hate Site Comes Up on Google News Search
25 Jul, 2008 - 10:44 AM - by FalseRapeArchivist
Here's what happened: I found a post in an apparently major feminist site called Abyss2Hope about false rape claims while doing a Google News search. I proceeded to leave a very even-handed comment on that post calling for police to treat all rape claims in an even-handed fashion, with objectivity, and without "believing" or "disbelieving" either side.

A young woman who writes on that site clicked on my name and found that I am author of http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/ so she proceeded to write an entire post accusing me of being a biased rape "denialist" with a political agenda and -- get this -- decrying my call for treating rape claims with objectivity. You read that right. Put aside the misandry, how infantile this person must be. I am confident she did not read my site but suspect she just saw that I seek to raise awareness about false rape claims so she went into knee jerk-misandry mode -- you know, assumed I hate women, I suppose, because I dare to speak for, and represent in my legal practice, the innocent falsely accused of rape.

And that site is linked by Google News? Why?

The brilliant author of The Counter-Feminist took this, this person to task for her inanity:

The Pornification of Girls
25 Jul, 2008 - 9:06 AM - by Percy
This is the first time I have been able to access the Quadrant Journal on-line. It seems now to be linking several items per issue.

Quadrant is the leading intellectual journal in Australia (and considered 'Right Wing') and over the past two or three years has published several articles criticising Feminism and its effects on society.

It's articles are often densly packed and very much for the 'thinker'. They are 'academic' papers. They require a cup of cofee / large scotch and a comfortable arm chair, although I tend to either sit at the table / desk (a usual place for me) or read in the bath. I tend to be found there at 1 am. Or I could be were anyone to look for me. Tonight I will be watching the Tour de France at 1 am, (three hours from now) so I am posting this early.

Anyway, this is my treat for you all today.

This is a long article (5600 words) so dig in. It is worthwhile.

How do you deal with STUPID parents?
25 Jul, 2008 - 4:24 AM - by Percy
I have deep reservations about Family Court Judges being permitted to breathe. Nevertheless some have to deal with clear cut cases of STUPID parents; people who might otherwise be considered poor breeding stock.

Band of brothers
24 Jul, 2008 - 11:13 AM - by frostyboy
An article written by Andrew Jackson in 2006: Band of brothers

Quote:
In a rented meeting space in a northern Detroit suburb, an "integration group" — or "I-group" — is meeting. Nine "warrior brothers" sit in a circle, surrounding a candleholder shaped like men locking arms in a huddle. Next to the candleholder sits a prayer fan. A symbol of power, the staff, sits nearby. This room is what these men call a "safe container," a place where male emotions are allowed. One by one, these men spend the evening talking about personal issues and feelings. When men want to echo the speaker's sentiments, they extend an arm to show sympathy. The "elders" identify their standing in the group by asserting when they "did their weekend." And one can talk with them all night without learning what car they drive, what they do for a living, what sports they enjoy watching. In a strange reversal of topics, these men don't talk about "things." They talk about loved ones and relationships instead.

Once a month, Mankind Project's weekly gathering of "warrior brothers" opens itself to

Corrupt, Lying Bastard DA - Prosecuted
24 Jul, 2008 - 10:17 AM - by Percy
Careers are made on banging people up. It doesn't matter to some DAs that the people they bang-up are innocent. If they find out they are innocent, they will lie, cheat, dissemble and cover their arse and leave the poor sod rotting in jail.

The future of men
24 Jul, 2008 - 2:16 AM - by julie

The past half century has seen enormous and fundamental shifts in gender roles and gender expectations. While the focus has been very much on women, what they want, and how they are handling the shift, men have also had to grapple with fundamental social, political, and economic changes that have largely been outside individuals’ control. As the activity of the women’s rights movement has matured into the postfeminist era, many men are experiencing a sense of angst or dissatisfaction with their new roles in society, in the workplace, and within the family. (p. 5)

These are the basic two levels of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (Safety and Physiological), and for much of human history, men have had a special role in protecting and providing. But no longer. Now in most of the developed world and even beyond, a woman doesn’t ... [Read More]

The princess or the three toed sloth?
24 Jul, 2008 - 1:27 AM - by TERA
O.k. before I start I just want to say please don't lecture me on the vile nature of fast food....I know it's bad for ya...but tonight the kids and I went to Taco Time.

I had two nine year old girls with me...one, my daughter, and the other, her friend.

They ordered kids' taco meals, of course.

And you probably know that kids are more interested in the toys that come with the meal rather than the meal itself. The girls were excited to see what "magical toy" they got.....it was the first thing they looked for. I imagine they were expecting some kind of frilly little princess doll, or fuzzy little teddy bear...and when they pulled their prizes out of their bags I heard...."What is it? What is it?"

And lo and behold, the girls nearly in tears. ... (lol) I hear, "it's ...it's....it's a three toed sloth!"

I almost spilled my drink.

Forgive me for finding humor in this...but it was just too funny.

On the way home, from the backseat I could hear the girls chatting about what they could possibly do to play with a plastic figurine of a three toed sloth. "We could hang it from a rope," I heard my daughter's friend say.

Then there was a bit of silence.

As I pulled into the driveway and stopped the car, I turned around and looked to the backseat (because silence is sometimes dangerous when it comes to nine year... [Read More]

What do men's rights groups protest?
23 Jul, 2008 - 4:16 PM - by frostyboy
An article written by Scot Beard in 2004: What do men's rights groups protest?

Quote:
People never cease to amaze me. There is always someone out in the world who does something stupid, or something that makes no sense to me.

With my extremely cynical nature, it is hard to surprise me with someone's goofiness. That is why I am writing this. I found a subject that I still cannot believe. It came to my attention while doing a book review for a class.

The book was about the portrayal of women and minorities in advertising. The chapter on women talked about women being treated as sex objects or as airheads. Near the end, the author wrote about the recent trend of role reversal in advertising. You know, the Calvin Klein ads where men are the sex objects, or the beer ads where guys are all bumbling buffoons.

Now, here is the good part. There are people protesting these ads. Are they Victoria's Secret models angered that the guys are taking over their territory? Or, is it stupid people who are afraid of being associated with alcoholics? No, the

Men's advocate argues case in front of California appellate court
23 Jul, 2008 - 1:31 AM - by John Dias
Today, I had the pleasure of attending an appellate court hearing in which one of our own MRAs argued for declaring a certain provision of California's health and safety code unconstitutional, because it defines domestic violence as a crime against women (but not men). I wrote a full summary, here:

BBC slander against UKMM
22 Jul, 2008 - 12:06 PM - by frostyboy
Here is a BBC article from 1999: Is feminism relevant in 2000?

This sentence from the article is quite simply slanderous:

Quote:
Take Robert Whiston for example - a member of the United Kingdom Men's Movement, which wants to repeal equal rights for women in Britain.
The UKMM has no interest in repealing equal rights for women.

The quoted sentence is an attempt to falsely portray the UKMM as a misogynistic organisation, and thus harm their reputation.

Typical BBC.

Woman shows how to peacefully deal with her emotions
22 Jul, 2008 - 9:46 AM - by Marx
A woman walks in on her boyfriend, catching him red-handed cheating on her, and shows us a feminist utopia of dealing with such a nasty man. Now remember, women's violence is only ever made in self defense, and this woman clearly won't lower herself to violence... Will she?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BeQXJsmjGY

Oh after all that, it seems women are just as prone to temper tantrums over emotions as men are when dealing with cheating and relationships.

Moms, Don’t Take Your Kids to an Abuse Shelter

July 21, 2008 at 5:44 pm · Filed under Vox Populi

Abuse shelters are the domestic violence industry’s Holy of Holies. Their ministrations are shrouded in mystery, the High Priestesses unnamed, their locations often kept secret. There abused women can become purified of the patriarchal demon and begin life anew.

Of course if you’re an abused man, don’t bother to ask for help. They’re likely to claim you are harassing them and call the police. And abuse shelters don’t seem to be very interested in helping the youngsters, either.

Although abuse shelters claim to serve the children of abused women, what passes for child care may be a gum-chewing, tattoo-adorned teenager clocking her community service hours. Or a former drug-user working off her parole plea-bargain.

Or there may be no care at all.

My anger is uncontrolaable even for me
22 Jul, 2008 - 1:42 AM - by julie
I am angry. And I can't stop it. It just keeps coming back up.

But it made me do some things today. Twice I was confronted back and put in my pace and once I listened to reality of how things are.

The one I listened to is an older women who works with the hardest cases with the local police and I did cop it from her too as soon as I mentioned I worked with single parents. We are not very popular at the moment.

I asked her if feminism was wrong. That was my first question.

She said it wasn't. Nothing else was spoken about it.

But she has a firm opinion about feminists at the moment. She is very pissed off that there are no men's refuges. And even more pissed off about the children especially the youth.

I tried to mention that our group was supportive of a men's refuge but just the name single parent's had her eyes look at me in disgust.

..............

Second woman was pissed off with me because i hadn't cared enough to help her a while back with a friend in prison on false rape charges but he is out now through a lot of hard work. Yet I was only new at this at the time. I had not intended to get involved in false rape.

.............

Third woman, well, she should have spoken to not just me but other bitching women in the... [Read More]

A New Model Family Relationship
22 Jul, 2008 - 12:13 AM - by Percy
I posted much of this as a comment on the Wasihngton Post thread. But I repeat it here to collect all the views together.

The old model of man/woman and family relationship has been shown for what it is. Defend it or attack it, it exploited men for the benefit of women.

It needs to be recast.

If the new, post-feminist woman makes it known that she expects to nurture the kids and home while he works a paid job supporting her, isn't she an oppressor of men - or is it still his fault?

The Traditional way, if we go back to it, will come under the same female criticism and complaint and whining as it did 50 years ago. I see NO REASON for men to subject themselves to a repeat of history. The blindfold has been taken off men's eyes.

The Traditional family exploits men, demeans men, demands that men sacrifice everything for women and children, then BLAMES men.

The modern woman has to be forced to confront the damage that her whining has done. She must be told, very clearly and insistently, that if it wasn't good enough for her last time, it still won't be if it is repeated.

She must be told clearly and insistently that it was MEN who were oppressed under the old traditional system, NOT women, and men WILL NOT go back to it.

She must be told, clearly and insistently that SHE must come up with a new way that is satisfactory to men and does not exploit men.
