I am not too familiar with Ukrainian politics, but Yulia appears to be going down the same route as the Burmese woman who has been consistently abused by the powers in charge.

As an Australian I think we should do a swap and send our Julia to serve the time in jail.

Looks like a case of selective prosecution to me. So many people break the rules in the former Soviet Union but only those who aren't in power get prosecuted (and when they get prosecute things go way over the top).

I don't think it's happening here but can we please be cautious not to simply highlight uncertain wrongdoing by female politicians. That's EXACTLY the sort of thing feminists have been doing in reverse for the last 40 years and we must never ever end up anything like them.

I suppose the only positive in relation to gender balance is that it's actually a female victim for a change and a male would probably have been quietly murdered. On the downside the feminists will almost certainly be going crazy over this one as they hate putting women n prison under any circumstances, even when the crimes are extremely serious, clear cut and not in dispute.

What the hell do you expect - is thre justice in central amercian states which form the US' backyard? Similarly dont expect justice in Russia's backyard.
