Women in Power
Amid all the calls for women in boardrooms and politics, in the sciences and academia, and the 'glass ceilings' that STOP them
getting into positions of power, we in Oz have so many women in power that they don't even bother talking to one another.
So, having got to the powerful position of Chief Scientist (a man didn't) Penny Sacket, Professor, does....what?Andrew Bolt – Wednesday, February 23, 11 (12:11 pm)
Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog
The Gillard Government is about to hit us with a great green tax to revolutionise our entire economy in ways that court hurt millions. It justifies this on the grounds that this is what the science of global warming demands.
So you’d expect it to take the most careful notice of the advice of its most senior scientific adviser before embarking on this massive exercise. I mean, this is about the science, right?
JULIA Gillard never met with her chief scientific adviser before Penny Sackett’s shock resignation on Friday, a Senate committee has heard.
The outgoing chief scientist also admitted in a Senate estimates hearing today that she only directly briefed former prime minister Kevin Rudd once in her two and a half years in the job…
The role of the chief scientist is to provide high level advice to the prime minister… Professor Sackett admitted that she had not been invited to accompany the Australian delegation that attended the Copenhagen climate change conference.
Sod all.
And Gloriana Julia, getting to the Highest position in the land (despite all the Glass Ceilings that she never encountered) totally ignores her Female chief scientist.
So much for women's innate 'communications' ability.
And she can't say she was too busy as women can multi-task, shirley?
