"Women hate me for being beautiful"
There has been quite a fuss in Daily Mail-land, and beyond, about a woman who finds that other women treat her badly because of her "lovely looks". On the surface, the whole story is rather amusing, and many believed that it was an April Fool gag, but does it give an insight into the female psyche? Has an average-looking man ever been dumb enough to publicly declare his irresistability to women, and if he has was he ever treated with anything other than ridicule?

Re: "Women hate me for being beautiful"
it's true that the outcome if this was the other way around would be amusing kinda like how jealous women are very amusing. however is it weird that i actually think this girl's cute?

Re: "Women hate me for being beautiful"
Intelligent brother, is this worthy of our precious thinking? I don't want to see such non-stories appearing on a forum where more pressing men's stories are jostling for concern. We musn't repeat the emptiness of certain vacuous women, lest we ignore more important matters.
I don't want to see you posting such a similar emasculating thread ever again! We are born for better things.Last edited by Celtic Druid; 4th-April-2012 at 02:01 PM.

Re: "Women hate me for being beautiful"
It should always be remembered that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In this case the woman is not particularly beautiful as to have all men heartbroken. This may be someone's stunt to get her on the national press, to satisfy the celebrity status she craves. She may well be regretting it today!

Indeed, is she moral, a good neighbour and a decent human being etc?
In a time of social uncertainty, we should put a greater emphasis on peoples morality rather than one-dimensional convenient human snippets. Maybe in future moral merit will play a greater role in how we value one another?Last edited by Celtic Druid; 4th-April-2012 at 07:50 PM.

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder ...in this case about a 24 pack..

"Too Pretty" Columnist Samantha Brick Ridiculed - Yahoo!
Going through life as a "tall, slim, blonde" woman is harder than it looks, according to British columnist Samantha Brick, who has become the focus of criticism and ridicule for writing that her life as a beautiful woman has been especially difficult.
Brick, 41, published a column in the Daily Mail on Tuesday entitled, "'There are downsides to looking this pretty': Why women hate me for being beautiful."
Brick bemoaned having to go through life as a beautiful woman, constantly receiving free champagne and wine from suitors, flirting with male bosses, and angering female friends and co-workers with her looks.“Understanding is a two-way street.”

Re: "Women hate me for being beautiful"
I've seen a picture of Samantha Brick and they must not hate her too much.
Added after 5 minutes:
Yeah, you're right. I can understand a woman starting a thread like this because I mean, really, it's not like most of em care anyways if men get thrown to the sewer. They do that to us everyday with smiles on their faces anyways and it's not as if women feel they have a vested interest in our well being, well, perhaps they have to keep us well enough to slave for them.
Men doing this is kind of a shot in the foot but then again we've already made our points so at this point we're not evolving. Perhaps there is a greater purpose here that I fail to see, though.Last edited by Popadibs; 5th-April-2012 at 08:37 AM. Reason: content auto merged

Re: Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder ...in this case about a 24 pack..
You are right that this topic is a worthless topic regarding men's issues. However, to be fair, there have been a lot of threads started, threads responded to and posts made throughout the forum that are essentially just as worthless. Plus, at least this is within the "chit chat" section where it probably belongs, if anywhere, instead of in a more serious sub-forum.
I do understand the need to spend adequate time addressing men's issues rather than rambling on about garbage. I also realize that the problem didn't begin with this thread and it likely won't end with this thread. There is also the possibility that the op missed the other thread altogether, which does happen.
I'm not defending such undue attention on trivial matters but if we address every juvenile topic started with equal diligence we'd probably be drained of energy. I sometimes wonder why we are more comfortable with responding to this type of nonsense than we are with taking meaningful measures to better the male condition. Threads like this only serve as such a heavy diversion because of our participation in them. We need more discussions on how we can solve the problems we address. When I do this, and I know I will, it will be comparable to the lame learning to walk, the blind being enabled to see and the suffocated breathing again. The sky isn't the limit; there are no limits.

Samantha Brick diary reveals further anguish
Daily Mail columnist Samantha Brick has hit the headlines again today after her secret diary was leaked on the Internet, giving further insight into the mind of a delusional narcissist.
Below are sample entries revealed to reporters by an unnamed source, which are already providing greater clarity on the thought processes of Mrs Brick.
Jan 27th and 28th: “Stopped to do my hair in the mirror before leaving for work, and before I knew it, it was Saturday.”
February 2nd: “The bread is mouldy – my beauty is such that it spoils baked goods in just six days, truly this is a curse.”
February 15th: “Walked past a building site earlier, so dumb-struck by my exquisite visage were the builders that their lips stopped working and wolf-whistles were rendered impossible as I passed. They also did their best to continue working and appear indifferent to my presence, but I know the truth.”
February 28th: “Enjoyed lunch today, but it was clearly so difficult for the waiter not to put his phone number on my bill. I was mightily impressed with his self-restraint. I still felt i should remind him I was a married woman – he was polite enough to pretend he had no idea what I was going on about.”
March 7th: “That same guy tried to talk to me AGAIN on the way to work this morning – that’s twenty nine days straight. Just take NO for an answer will you – and believe me, your ‘Big Issue’ pretence isn’t fooling anyone.
March 15th: “Flashed by several male drivers on way home tonight. Who says 60 mph in the middle lane of a quiet motorway attracts no attention – NO, I WON’T GO OUT WITH YOU!”
April 4th: “More love letters in the post today, particularly touched by the dog faeces in a plastic bag – the perfect metaphor for a ‘potent’ love constrained by the ‘plastic’ of societies conventions. Their unrequited love for me must be truly heart-breaking.”

Re: "Women hate me for being beautiful"
reminds me of that song in West Side Story
MARIA
I feel pretty,
Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight.
when I was younger and single it was not how pretty they were that interested me
