Woman, 66, Shoots Estranged Son-in-Law Over Custody Dispute, Florida Police Say
By MATT GUTMAN and SUZANNE YEO | Good Morning America – 2 hours 56 minutes ago
A 66-year-old grandmother is under arrest after police say she shot her estranged son-in-law because of an ongoing custody battle he and her daughter were having over the pair's young son.
The victim, Salvatore Miglino of Boca Raton, had his cell phone recording the entire time, and the audio was key to the investigation of the Wednesday shooting in Broward County, Fla.
The incident unfolded when Miglino, 39, went to pick up his 3-year-old son for a scheduled visit. His mother-in-law, Cheryl Hepner, stood outside the home with the toddler's pillow and bag.
"According to him, when he asked for the things, she instead pulled out a handgun and starts firing shots," according to Dani Moschella, a spokeswoman for the Broward County Sheriff's Office.I am a non-secular humanist. That means

He recorded the whole incident on his iPhone. I bet he would have been accused and jailed if he didn't have the forethought to record the situation. Let's hope "Grandma" gets a nice long stint in prison for attempted murder.

Re: Woman shoots son in law over child custody dispute
Interesting how the newscaster at the end mentions how Mr Miglino had the presence of mind to record the encounter and how:
So if he had not recorded the encounter the two bullets lodged in his body would not have been enough evidence ??" Moschella said. "As evidence goes, that was a gem. That absolutely corroborated everything that Mr. Miglino had told detectives."
Yeah men are wising up, they're starting to realize that all encounters with women need to be recorded for their side of the story to be taken seriously. Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber. ~Plato

Note the voice she is using when she dialed 911... She sounds shaken and teary...
Good actress.
I wonder how many women use tears to try and convince the authorities that a man is the abuser when in reality it's the other way around.. Gee, I wonder. It must surely be a rarity, right?

Re: Woman shoots son in law over child custody dispute
And that is the sorry state of having to deal with a woman in a conflict situation. Judges are allowing tweets, texts, and emails as evidence, but a recording of a woman displaying atrocious behavior and then later denying it or blaming a man is really the only way men have to protect themselves. A male witness can easily be discredited simply because the witness was a male, and possibly an accomplice because of his XY chromosomes.
As far as the 2 bullets in the mans body, if he didn't have the recording, law enforcement and the courts would have pilloried the man regardless. I wonder if the cops would have checked who the pistol was registered to?
In Florida, gun crimes are prosecuted harshly. I am in agreement with that tactic. Let's hope the woman who shot her ex-son inlaw gets some hard time. Doubtful, but a possibility.
It remains to be seen if this woman will be charged with attempted murder or some other less serious crime such as first degree assault with grevious bodily harm
I'm just waiting for the woman to claim her ex-son inlaw abused her, her daughter, and sexually abused their young son. She will follow the victim script used in almost every court case where a woman is facing some hard time behind bars.

Typical lying woman, but what was that at the very end?.....
He was 'released' from hospital with two bullets still in him ! ?
This is American Health? And Americans say they have the best hospitals in the world?
I suggest that had the victim been a woman she would be still in there, with the bullets being removed, a plastic surgeon ready to do a boob job and a botox needle being filled with toxic gunk to put a fresh blank stare on her face. Botox helps liars. When in need of a drink to fill the soul
