A young widow has launched an extraordinary legal battle against her own children to take control of her millionaire husband's estate.
Taryn Butler is suing her young children over the disputed estate following the death of her husband Mark Butler last year, according to papers filed at the High Court.
Mrs Butler says her husband failed to make a will for his estate - worth £2,231,201 - before his death from cancer last September.
Under the rules of 'ntestacy', Mrs Butler will, in law, receive just £125,000 and personal items.
The family fortune had been estimated at nearly £3 million before debts were paid off.
Although she will receive the income from a half share of what is left, the other half will go to the couple's children Molly, three, and Maximilian, one.
Mrs Butler, from Holland Park, claims the existing rules mean she does not make enough of a living.
She is asking the High Court to give her reasonable financial provision from her husband's estate.
As a result, she is suing her own children, as well as her cousin, Nicola Pritchard, who is co-administrator of her late husband's estate.
Ms Pritchard said the court action was to contest the intestate ruling.
Speaking from her Kingston home, she said: 'I am working with Taryn, my cousin, to get a better solution. I'm not being sued, I'm a co-administrator of his estate.
'Mark died without a will. It is a very difficult situation. She has lost her husband last year to cancer and now this.'
