Do they teach in the US that males still do not have unencumbered suffrage, while women do? Is it not the case that males have to agree to be drafted in order to vote, while females do not?

It's not only the USA that is like this. I am gradually compiling a list of male suffrage (if anyone knows of one ANYWHERE please drop me a line) and finding that there are a few countries where women have unencumbered female suffrage but not unencumbered male suffrage.

Hmm I have yet to find someone but I will do a bit of digging and see what I come up with. You are right on this one too. Ain't it funny how nobody mentions or even thinks of some of the obvious civil rights issues that men face today...

Men in USA who do not agree to be called up on in the event of a war (draft) cannot vote, cannot get a college loan and cannot get a legal driving license. Yes, if a man in USA wants to drive a car legally or he wishes to further his education, he MUST accept that he may be called to fight in a war he disagrees with.

But women are the oppressed ones, the poor dears.

If you dig further in history, you'll find that Europeans (Slavs) were murdered and enslaved by Asians (Mongols). For an acquaintance who promoted the idea that only whites ever do evil, and only non-whites (he preferred the term "oppressed nationals") ever have evil done to them, mentioning this kinda pissed him off. For that matter, Native Americans did it to each other, with Aztec empire waging war against weaker neighbors to capture slaves and sacrifice victims, the Japanese have been fucking over Chinese and Koreans periodically throughout history, with World War II being the biggest example. Indians have been oppressing other Indians through the caste system, which is highly stratified.

I could go on, and on, and on, about different cultures oppressing each other, but the point is that it's pretty much human nature. Being able to look at another group and say, "Hey, they're different from us, so therefore we can do terrible things to them" is pretty innate. Hell, to say that other ethnicity can't, or don't oppress others is to pretty much deny their humanity.

Just as they never mention the Barbary pirates who captured 1.25 million white slaves. They never mention that Hitler's helper was the Pope. They never mention that much of Alexander The Great's legend was a fraud.

If you wish to learn history, don't rely on public schools nor Hollyweird to teach you.
