Tearful Oprah apologises amid abuse claims

US talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey has tearfully begged for forgiveness after a staff member at a girls' school she funds in South Africa was accused of sexual abuse.

Winfrey rushed to the Leadership Academy for Girls, near Johannesburg, after the abuse claims surfaced.
She met with parents and assured them she would do everything possible to ensure prosecution, The Independent newspaper reported.
"I've disappointed you. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry," Winfrey told the parents who attended a meeting in a packed marquee.
One of the matrons who oversees the dormitories has been accused of abuse.

Reports said the staffer grabbed one girl by the throat and threw her against a wall. The woman, who has not been named, has also been accused of sexually fondling at least one pupil.
The claims came after a student fled the school saying the situation had become unbearable.
Winfrey has sent the accused woman on leave, along with the school's principal, identified only as Dr Mzimane, and one other staffer, the Independent said.

The alleged victims have accused Dr Mzimane of failing to act after students complained of abuse. Police and special US investigators have been called in.
Winfrey, reportedly in tears, told the meeting: "I trusted her (Dr Mzimane). When I appointed her, I thought she was passionate about the children of Africa. But I've been disappointed."
One father responded by telling Winfrey it was not her fault.
Winfrey spent millions to build the school after former South African president Nelson Mandela asked her to become involved in education programmes.

I saw this on AOL news this morning, and was about to post the link when my computer bombed out on me AGAIN.

My first reaction to this was: Well, there goes the sisterhood! I thought women defend each other, don't molest each other, certainly...and do all in their power to guard other "sisters" from the evil males amongst them.

It's a matter of deflecting attention from the corruption of her protégés to herself. She can take it and deal with it easily, since it is not really her fault.

You can bet your sweet arse that the abuser would have been named if it was a 'HE'! And Oprah's tears (poor dear) would have been replaced by rage!

But this woman, accused at this stage, can go merrily on her way to another child institution, and abuse again, and no one will know who she is, c/o Opoora.

Although this story of abuse is unfortunate, it does however serve too highlight to a worldwide audience, the existence of female paedophiles. Whereby in this particular case, the accused is ironically employed/funded by one of the medias most insidious misandric influential feminists, whose perpetual biased propaganda presentations over a number of decades have rigidly only portrayed men as being such sexual predators.

Is Oprah now experiencing the cost of "deliberately" neglecting allocation of rational and honest airtime to the hidden taboo of womens sexual abuse? Has she put ideology before the safety of children? She won't be the first feminist to do so!

That was what I was thinking when I posted this story.
But I bet there won't be any lessons learned from this and I sure as hell reckon there won't be a show on Oprah on female paedo-philes, the feminist agenda would not allow such a thing to occur.

That's a valid point. Oprah has redirected attention back to herself, as a true narcissist would. There is no mention of the alledged offenders name because she's a woman, and Oprah I'm sure is protecting her for that reason. Should any of us be suprised? Afterall, Oprah is the one who hosted an interview on her show with murderer Mary Winkler - an injustice and disgrace to the family of the husband she killed and to his children.

Woman arrested over Oprah school abuse

South African police have arrested a former dormitory employee at television talk show star Oprah Winfrey's leadership academy for girls on charges of abuse, including indecent acts.
At least seven alleged victims have submitted statements about the woman, police said.
