Mens Centre II

Remember I started a thread regarding this centre a while back?

Well, it opened last weekend, sorry I wasn't there, but a lot of protesters from the local and Timaru Womens Refuse did, neighbours told them to piss off and stop making so much noise.
There was a celebration of Men's rights and a huge BBQ, with men and their kids invited.
I'm told it went over very well.
I will post pics, once I get them.

Sorry can someone provide more info. A men's center? - does this mean a dv shelter for men?

I guess ti would be ok for the feminists to protest about it if they don't admit women. Howver they should of course be outside 99% of the dv shelters in the western hemesphere too

What the Aorangi Men's Centre hopes to achieve, is not so much a "dumping ground" for men that have been affected by DV laws, or fathers that have been alienated by Family Court rulings.

What we are willing to achieve, is any man that is bought into the Centre, will get a decent feed in our kitchen.

If he has not bathed in some time, through no fault of his own, he will have a shower in one of 6 of our showers, we also have washing machines and 3 dryers where his clothes can be laundered.

We have sleeping facilities for up to 35 men, as basic as they are.

Most of all though, we have direct access to a lawyer and a doctor, should this be needed.

This centre was built BY men, FOR men, every stitch of timber, concrete, pipes and wires, were installed by men.

This is what annoys any Wimmins Refuse, they had to depend on MEN to build their shelters for them.

Oh and the idea that having so many men in a small area, is bad for wimmin living in the vicinity, after all we are ALL rapists!

We will have a web presence once I get the computer system up and running.

When women protest or get in everyones faces, it is called a Womens Rights march.

That's exactly why you should do it to break this double standard, biased view which you could also mention in the article. I'm just giving you some advice mate.

yep,i have seen(very recently)that even some mra's get upset when 1 of there own attempts to make to much noise-they say it does our cause no good and is even bad for us.To me,this makes no sense.
I don't believe exposure to the injustices men face of anykind is bad-it makes some people open their mind to our side and what we are fighting for.

i have been called "nuts","hateful",radical etc.. for wanting to do the same type of thing here for men.
