It's always funny to watch liberals twist and turn to find plausible explanations for the unintended side effects of their own policies, without having to mention the elephant in the room.

This gives me the opportunity to do my typical woman impression;
You shouldn't be going into a marriage just to get benefits for yourself, that's just selfish, it's about the family unit.
That impression was so good, you would think there was a foaming-at-the-mouth feminist in the room

PercySociology is the professing of bullshit
Reminds me of the wit who put a toilet roll and dispenser in a public area of a university, bearing the legendary inscription:
SOCIOLOGY DEGREES
PLEASE TAKE ONE!

Ah yes members of the liberal elite the ones that come on to the Late Review and make bovine pronouncements on the latest piece of trashy trendy pop culture.
Members of the intelligensia -educated beyond intelligence....feminism is a disease the Doc is working on a cure. Symptoms include compulsive liar, constant aggression, allergic to logic, often affects women who are fat with short hair and big earings, but can be normal looking.
Reason tablets three taken daily. If the sufferer displays shaming tactics double the dose. Remarkably the illness disappears in disaster zones.

Another change of some sociological significance is that First World women are having fewer children and having them later in life. Do we hear the phrase "Women Afraid of Motherhood" bandied about? Thought not. They're taking control of their lives, voting with their wombs, escaping traditional gender roles, whatever. Men, however, haven't the smarts to avoid fatherhood based on a considered assessment of the risks and rewards - if they avoid fatherhood it must be because they're afraid.

Haha! seems only those under the age of consent and those who have worn out eggs are breeding now!!
The state has got its grip on the top quality breeding age women and is putting them to work in wage slavery!!
Then again, I have always bred with women in their 20's and permantely removed them from the slavery pool so I guess there may be some truth in the suggestion that it men that are limiting women from breeding!!

Re: Men afraid of fatherhood, UBC prof says
Is it possible that they don't say that about women because it is still believed that women are just automatically born with a "mothering instinct?"
I say this because, when I had my first child, it took me a few months to bond with her. I wondered what was wrong with me because it didn't just happen instantly. I felt as though I failed. Later on I would learn that there is no so-called mothering instinct. In fact, when it took awhile to bond with my son this time around, I already knew that the whole instantaneous bonding thing was all just bunk.
Raising children can be scary. It's a large life-long commitment that I would imagine scares most, if not all, of your sane, sensible persons.
Bonds (usually) form in time, and this is true for both men and women. We are all, after all, just people.

And that may well be a large part of the problem.
When a woman feels less-than if she does not bond with her baby straight away, that in turn can impact not only the baby but the father as well. Babies certainly can pick up on stressed out mothers/fathers.
All in all it's a very poor system.
