Katie Couric is right to criticise sexist US
Katie Couric is right to criticise sexist US
Telegraph.co.uk - United Kingdom
Katie Couric, America’s highest earning television news anchor, has whipped up quite a storm with her comments that she, like Hillary Clinton, is a victim of sexism.
The presenter of CBS Evening News (who has a 72 million dollar five-year contract to host the show) told an Israeli paper she found herself in “the last bastion of male dominance and realising what Hillary Clinton might have realised not long ago: that sexism in American society is more common than racism and certainly more acceptable or forgivable”...
"Rights for women and responsibilities for men is really license for women, slavery for men, and liberty for neither. " Dylan MacVillain

Hey, anyone remember that Simpson's episode when Bart was digging in the back yard and pulled out Katie Couric, who turned out to be a leprechaun? lol
Anyway, this is rather sad to find another woman claim sexism. I mean look at that, she has a 72 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT! What is she complaining about?

Re: Katie Couric is right to criticise sexist US
The bitch is a fucking moron, she jumped on the bandwagon condemning the Duke boys before it even got to court. Had to take the following day off because she got some critcism from other media members. Did the bitch have the decency to apoplogize, never.
Not that harpy, just a loud mouthed bitch catering to feminists and the looney left. It's a wonder you don't get brainlock and your IQ shrinks whenever watching it..
She doesn't deserve to be on the screen just on a street corner hawking, whatever she could get for it, does the same on screen..

Re: Katie Couric is right to criticise sexist US
Check out the comments on the article - they are largely sensible and informed. Even women are getting fed up with the incessant whine of feminism. People are readily and quickly seeing through this "I'm a poor ickle victim of sexism" tripe that women like Couric dish out as a feeble excuse to try to cover up their own inadequacies. It is good to see the message getting across. I tell you there is more support for anti-misandry out there than appears on sites like these!
BTW, being a Brit I don't have much knowledge of who Couric is, apart from apparently being a massively over-hyped and over-paid sexist whinger who sits in front of a camera and reads from an autocue.
Can anyone enlighten me as to exactly what good she has ever done in the world? In what way has she made the world a better place? Do I have her to thank for any betterment of my life or that of others?

Re: Katie Couric is right to criticise sexist US
I think Katie might consider the possibility that her low ratings result from the fact that she is just not very effective in delivering the "hard news." (She was very successful as a co-host of the morning "Today" show). Discrfmination against women in the broadcast business? I don't think so. Today it is de rigeur in the U.S. to have co-anchors of the evening news broadcasts---one male, one female. During the day women anchors actually predominate; for instance on MSNBC between the hours of 8AM and 4PM you will not see a single male. Furthermore while at times you will see two women presiding together you will NEVER see two men (the fems would storm the studio). This in spite of the fact that surveys (I don't know how scientific they are) continue to show that people prefer the news to be delivered by a male voice. It may be true that in earlier times there was discrimination against women in the broadcasting business, but those days are history.

Re: Katie Couric is right to criticise sexist US
It isn't about 'male voice' delivering the news. It isn't about 'anchoring'. It isn't about 'authority'.
It is the sheer fatuousness and INFLATION of a personality that she can be paid 72 Million dollars and still whine. This is 14.4 mil pa. It is what 288 families of Mom and dad and two kids on the average wage get by on. That's 1152 people.
It would take the average man 28.8 years to earn one tenth of the amount of just one of her year's salary.
That anyone in an Industry gets that amount is obscene.
Glass ceilings? Sheer stipidity. Its a glass ceiling in a Crystal Palace.
If she was paid $200 mil and feted as the most fantastic person on TV, it still would not be enough for her.
She is disgusting. When in need of a drink to fill the soul
