Female suicide bomber kills dozens in Baghdad

'Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- At least 41 people were killed and 106 others wounded Monday in a suicide bombing that targeted Shiite pilgrims in northeastern Baghdad, Iraq's Interior Ministry said.
The female bomber detonated her explosive vest in the middle of a procession of pilgrims in Boob al-Sham, in a predominantly Shiite area of the Iraqi capital, according to an Interior Ministry official.
The detonation took place in a tent set up to search females, according to the Baghdad Operations Command. Three volunteer female searchers were among those killed.
The attack took place amid tight security as thousands of Shiite worshipers are making their way to the holy city of Karbala, south of Baghdad, to mark the Arbaeen -- the end of the 40-day mourning period at the close of Ashura.'

So, she killed mostly other women. As with men, female religious fanatics don't distinguish between the innocent and what they deem as those deservest of death in their pursuit of jihad. 'Sisterhood' certainly doesn't factor in this.

There has been a notable increase in female suicide bombers in Iraq and Afghanistan these last few years - as the extremists probe security vulnerabilities. Of course, it's effectiveness in a great part is the outdated perception of females as being of no real threat. Time for an update in those perceptions methinks.

I don't know about that but I tell you that there will be an upsurge in female suicide bombers see how effective they are untill the securty forces decied to clamp down on them as they clamp down on susspected male suicide bombers.
