Fathers' Rights Attorney Jeffery M. Leving to Receive Award From President Bush

From Reuters: Fathers' Rights Attorney Jeffery M. Leving to Receive Award From President Bush

The Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood, through the leadership of its Chairman Jeffery M. Leving, has been recognized by President Bush and will receive the President's Volunteer Service Award.

"We are really honored and humbled that we are being recognized by President Bush for our hard work in restoring fatherhood as a societal norm in all communities. We will continue to encourage fathers to be actively involved with their children and continue to strengthen the father-child bond in America," commented the Council's Chairman, Attorney Jeffery M. Leving.

The Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood is a state commission established by the Illinois State Legislature to promote the positive involvement of both parents in the lives of their children. The Responsible Fatherhood Act was signed into law in August of 2003 by Governor Rod Blagojevich.

The Council is composed of community leaders, experts and professionals from across the state, all appointed by the governor.

The award will be presented to Jeffery M. Leving on July 30, 2008 at 3:00pm in the library at 19 South LaSalle Street, Suite 450.

In his 2002 State of the Union Address, President George W. Bush created the USA Freedom Corps, and called on every American to make a lifelong commitment to volunteer service. The President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals and families who have answered that call.

    Well done.

Now maybe they can sell the award and get a budget.
