Domestic abuse victims often recant stories

Domestic abuse victims often recant stories

Police, victim services, courts say problem frustrating

The police, victim services and the courts see it all too often: victims of domestic abuse change their minds, recant their stories and go back to their violent partners.

The public prosecution office doesn't have statistics on how often victims recant their accounts on the stand.

Arlene Hache, from the Centre for Northern Families in Yellowknife, said this problem happens often.

“Probably 80 per cent of the women that I speak to recant their story, or regret reporting it,” she said

This is of course totally expected.. Over-reacting to petty shit, is what they do best.. This is why the state cant rely on breaking up families just by following the lead of women.. They try and prosecute regardless of what the fuckwit says later now..

Re: Domestic abuse victims often recant stories

There's a lot of No-Drop prosecutions in the U.S. for domestic violence and rape, even if the evidence and statements point to a false claim. In the unlikely event a man goes to court with his wife/girlfriend as the DV accused, the state, prosecutors, and judges find any tiny reason to drop the case.

I know a man this happened to. After 15 years of physical and verbal abuse from his wife, he reported it. He had medical records, sworn statements by psychologists, and physical evidence (his wife cut him with a knife) when he called the police. He was taken to the hospital for deep cuts to his arms and hands-defensive wounds. His wife was arrested and let out the next morning with no bail, just an order to stay away from him and their house.

The prosecutor dropped the charges against the woman because of a lack of "credible evidence". Even the reports by 2 sworn officers were deemed to be not credible. That caused formal complaints to be filed against the prosecutor by the 2 officers. Nothing happened, it was swept under the misandry carpet.

Feminist media bias to the extreme.

Poor girl's who use the police to punish their significant other, then often regret it when they realize how far the government will actually go to ruin the man.

Rebecca Latour has no intention of breaking the cycle of family violence or she would take into consideration the true facts of domestic violence and hold women just as accountable as men.

Rebecca Latour actually supports family violence and doing anything to curb that, may just be the end of her highly paid carreer.

Villainizing men the way she does should show everyone exactly what this industry is all about.

    Misandry.

Folk cry "domestic violence" when they think they have something to gain by doing so.. When they realise they lose more than they will gain, they soon change the minds.. Prosecutions for what happens in families is not always a good idea.. In fact, it rarely is a good idea to criminalise folk who can be better "treated" with some proper therapy and support etc..

Women file sworn statements all the time in false rape cases, does this mean that the falsely accused of rape are automatically guilty?
