Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet Harman
From The Daily Mail:
Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet
Harman
Harriet Harman has spoken of her ambitions to sit alongside
Hillary Clinton and Angela Merkel in a global crusade against
sexism.
Labour's deputy leader wants to establish a group of high-ranking
women, including the U.S. Secretary of State and the German
Chancellor, who would meet regularly to fight for equality.
Her announcement, in a speech to EU leaders, also appeared to
be an attempt to burnish her credentials as a future Labour leader.
Miss Harman, the minister for women, said: 'There is, as yet, no international architecture which serves effectively to bring together women leaders who are working for progress along the same lines in each of our own countries. We need to look at how this could be done.'
She made clear she sees herself as a pioneer to rank alongside Mrs Clinton and Mrs Merkel.
She said: 'In the UK we have a new Government Office for Equality - of which I am in charge. Germany has its first woman Chancellor - Angela Merkel - and half the Spanish cabinet are women.
'The U.S. has a woman heading the State Department, Secretary Hillary Clinton, and Hilda Solis as Secretary for Labour. For the first time, the House of Representatives has a woman speaker, Nancy Pelosi.'
Miss Harman said she would seek to enlist the 140 female ministers throughout the EU in a bid to push women's issues.
She said: 'By doing this we can ensure the concerns of the 250million women in the EU are taken into account when decisions are made.'
She also plans to fight to set up a new UN 'consolidated gender entity body to progress issues concerning women'.
Tory spokesman Theresa May accused Miss Harman of putting her personal ambitions ahead of the interests of British working women.
She said: 'We want to ensure that issues affecting women are not forgotten but we all need to concentrate on the job in hand if we are to tackle Labour's jobs crisis and mend our broken economy'.Subscribe to my accounts on DocStoc, Scribd, Twitter and YouTube.

The radical feminist Harriet (harm a man) Harman is at it again. She was elected based on gender, instead of merit.
You don't necessarily need to enlist a lot of women for their concerns to be taken into account. About ministers: it's the person's professional qualities that matter, not their gender.Miss Harman said she would seek to enlist the 140 female ministers throughout the EU in a bid to push women's issues.
Furthermore, nowadays there's a lot more Men's Rights topics that are still not being seriously addressed compared to women's issues. Harriet needs to do a reality check.

Re: Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet Harman
People who think this, like HH, obviously assume that simply because a politician is female, she's incompetent, nothing else matters, if she's female, then she must be so incompetent as a politician, since she'll only be interested in looking out for women's needs.
If a male politician only looked out for men's needs, he'd be incompetent, because politicians are there to serve the people, the electorate, regardless of gender, so it's no different for a female.
I'm not spamming, it's totally related, but I wrote this blog recently about women in politics, and I say the same thing there, if women want more women in politics, then they have to be encouraged to become electable to more than half the population, and not just the female half.
It always strikes me as odd that the men on this site have far more confidence in women's abilities than feminists do, it's very strange, you'd think it would be the other way around.Hugh & Mary Discuss Feminist Related Issues (ALL SUBTITLED): http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...0081D259987DCD

Ah doesn´t Angie look great doing the old "Cactus Jack" *Bang Bang* gesture.....
Besides that, when it comes to more rights to women, Angela is probably the worst politician to lead a country (she heads the only big party that was against a women´s quote on executive boards)Disclaimer:The men's and fathers' movement needs to make sure it never sees females as the enemy, but only misandry--whether from females or from males. If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.Glenn Sacks

The strange thing is that if you truely wanted equality and an end to sexism, you'd have a coalition of people of different genders all working together globally to achieve such aims.
On the other hand, if you were a man-hating feminist you'd exclude all men from the process and just select women at random.

Re: Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet Harman
It's most ironic how that very setting holds one of the most potent concentrations of sexism on the planet (not to mention misandry).Harriet Harman has spoken of her ambitions to sit alongside
Hillary Clinton and Angela Merkel in a global crusade against
sexism.
Sinister stuff!Labour's deputy leader wants to establish a group of high-ranking
women, including the U.S. Secretary of State and the German
Chancellor, who would meet regularly to fight for equality.
Democracy demands that international politics is androgynous in it's aspirations, if we allow ideological fanatics like Harman to compartmentalise this longstanding framework then we set forth a process of fragmenting society itself.Miss Harman, the minister for women, said: 'There is, as yet, no international architecture which serves effectively to bring together women leaders who are working for progress along the same lines in each of our own countries. We need to look at how this could be done.'
And, in practice it actually achieves the opposite ......inequality!She said: 'In the UK we have a new Government Office for Equality - of which I am in charge.
And we all know what Harman's idea of 'women's issues' entails: cue the goose-stepping!Miss Harman said she would seek to enlist the 140 female ministers throughout the EU in a bid to push women's issues.
That's hilarious. Practically every euro political decision has to pass through a gynocentric filter before it's implemented - lest the standing government be punished by the female vote at the next election. Isn't it time Harman contrasted REALITY with her 'time warped' 70s feminist gibbering. She said: 'By doing this we can ensure the concerns of the 250million women in the EU are taken into account when decisions are made.'
The bigoted dictator seems to be making a lot of lofty plans regarding the UN like she's Napoleon or something. She also plans to fight to set up a new UN 'consolidated gender entity body to progress issues concerning women'.
She's also looking to consolidate a mechanism to facilitate a more efficient means of discrimination. Sounds worryingly familiar!
Harman doesn't care about the bigger 'inclusive' picture, just maintaining her fanatical agenda. She could be standing in the midst of a nuclear ravaged wasteland with her skin peeling away, and she'd still be feverishly engrossed in her demonic ranting.Tory spokesman Theresa May accused Miss Harman of putting her personal ambitions ahead of the interests of British working women.
She said: 'We want to ensure that issues affecting women are not forgotten but we all need to concentrate on the job in hand if we are to tackle Labour's jobs crisis and mend our broken economy'.Last edited by Celtic Druid; 13th-November-2009 at 05:35 PM.

Re: Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet Harman
In order to achieve equality of opportunity ( an oft used phrase by feminists) and equal treatment then these formidable women should get rid of affirmative action, VAWA, 'special' guvmunt programs that exclude one sex or the other, funding on the basis of genitals, female domination in education, disequilibrium in pensions and heath funding and the one-eyed biases that Feminism has consistently maintained and extended for the past 50 years.
And bugger the Global aspect; start at home.
Obese chance.

Re: Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet Harman
Something interesting to note, I have asked most women I know, online and offline, if they like, respect or take Harriet Harman seriously, I have yet to receive the answer "Yes", in fact it's quite the opposite, most women can't stand her.
I obviously don't know all the women in the world, but I wonder if anyone here could find one woman who actually likes this man-hater, because I doubt it.
I think Labour will still be in charge after the next election, simply because there are really no alternatives, the Tories are just another bunch of arseholes who don't give a shit about the people, and who also undemocratically use female shortlists, making them just as bad as Labour.

Re: Clinton, Merkel and me in a global war on sexism, by Harriet Harman
I bet my money on Merkel dismissing Harman as an irritant in the asshole and, Hilary Clinton telling her off "I'm too busy erradicating terrorism from around the world".
As for the other 140 female ministers she wants to enlist, will dismiss her as an "odd item", because in continental Europe "sex is seen as a positive force and that they are all at it like rabbits". In France for example is common for political leaders to be philanderers.
It is the English speaking world the ones to give sex such negative connotations and use sex as a tool to trade advantages, to execute extortions, imprison men on unproven claims of rape, etc.
Harriet Harman is pissing off the pot yet again!
