Angela Epstein: Absent fathers can't be likened to killer drivers
Blog entry here. Excerpt:
'And what a message it was. Doubtless leaving wife Sam and a team of hired help holding the fort (and the baby), David Cameron declared war on absent fathers, storming that they should be stigmatised by society in the same way as drink drivers.
I realise that having Nick Clegg yoked round his neck like a clingy girlfriend has put our prime minister under unimaginable stress.

Re: Angela Epstein: Absent fathers can't be likened to killer drivers
I was shocked when I heard that the Britsh PM had made this comparison. And that is after having heard President Obama's anti father rant a few years ago which also happened to be on a fathers day.
I hope both of those idiots eventually come to the conclusion that blaming this on dads is not only not helping the problem of fatherlessness but that their rhetoric actually makes the problem worse.
Constantly shaming fathers and insulting them in various other ways does not help the problem.
The only solution to this problem is to turn a 180 and abandon the anti father bigotry that is prevelant today and instead show that fathers are important to their children and the well being of those children.
It needs to be shown that fathers do not by and large leave of their own free will they are forced out by mothers and politicians.
Shaming fathers will not bring back fathers that have been ruthlessly thrown out their childrens lives.Chevalier.
