A Special E-Mail From Ammousou Andre

Blog of Shangi - The Mad Musings of the MadShangi: A Special E-mail From "Amoussou Andre"

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________
Dear Friend,
(TRANSFER OF US$14,000,000)
Please do not be surprise the way i got your contact. It is obvious that this proposal will come to you as a surprise. This is because we have not meet before but i am inspired to send you this email by the huge fund transfer opportunity that will be of mutual benefit to both of us.

First Let me start by introducing myself properly to you. I am AMOUSSOU ANDRE ,Credit officer TRUST FINACIAL COMPANY here in cotonou.I believe that you will not betrayed me at last with the trust i intend putting on you now.

THE PROPOSITION

A foreigner, a Libyian,Late Engr. MAHMUD ALI IBRAHIM (snr)An iron steel company chairman with the Federal Government here in Benin until his death some years ago in a plain crash and he Deposited with us some amount of money worth US$14,000,000(Fourteen million United States Dollars),the company now expects a next of kin as beneficiary of this money and Valuable efforts are being made by TRUST FINACIAL COMPANY to get in touch with any of the MAHMUD ALI'S family or relatives but to no avail.

It is because of the perceived possibility of not being able to locate any of Late Engr MAHMUD ALI IBRAHIM (snr)'s next of kin (he had no wife or children that is known to us).The management under the influence of our chairman and members of the board of directors, have made arrangements for the fund to be declared "Unclaimed» and subsequently be used to import ammunitions into our country.

However, In order to avert this negative development, some of my trusted colleagues and I, now seek your permission to have you stand as next of kin to late Engr MAHMUD ALI IBRAHIM (snr) so that the fund US$14,000,000 will be released and transferred into your account as the beneficiary.

All documents and proofs to enable you get this fund has been carefully worked out. We have secured from the probate an order of mandamus to locate any of the deceased beneficiaries, and more so, we are assuring you that this business is 100% risk free evolvement. Your share remains while the rest will be for myself and my colleagues for investment purposes anywhere according to agreement between we and your good self. So as soon as we receive an acknowledgement of the receipt of this our mutual business proposal from you, we would furnish you with the necessary disbursement ratio to suite both parties.

If this proposal is acceptable by you, do not hesitate to contact me through my private e-mail: amoussouandre09@live.comLooking forward to your urgent response.

Best regards, Amoussou Andre.

Re: A Special E-Mail From Ammousou Andre

I get those all the time. Almost always from an African nation and always from some bank officer.

It is always to give me money from some dead guy who was from a nation other than the original senders. And they always seem to have the greatest of trust in me.

I'll bet there are 4 or 5 in my junk mail right now as well as at least 2 from the lottery in the UK.

I wonder who would be stupid enough to fall for this little scam.

Re: A Special E-Mail From Ammousou Andre

I don't know but apparently people do or the scam would go away.

Last year I even had one scammer send me a check for $2,500.00 dollars but of course not knowing the people who said I had won a lottery that I had never entered. Needless to say I drove right past the bank on the way to the police station. They took the check and called me several days later saying that nearly 50 people had cashed those checks but then the checks bounced.

Here is the scam the money you got from cashing the check went to pay to process the claim on the money that they claimed the people had won.

So stupid selfish people cashed the checks and sent the scammers the money only to find out that they now owed their own banks thousands of dollars or at minimum lost part of their life savings.

I was amazed that so many in my little town fell for the scam.

Re: A Special E-Mail From Ammousou Andre

I didn't cash the check for a couple of reasons.

1 I never entered the lottery.
2 Why would I pay to process a claim on a lottery they said I already won? By telling me I had won it seems to me that everything had been processed. They already had my name and address so what more could they need to process to send the alleged winnings.

It's not like they would have to find me again. I just can't believe people fell for it without asking "Is this too good to be true?"

If you start there then the rest falls easily into place.

I get a stack of these too... I read of one guy who responded for fun, and ventured into the mechanics of the process.

He sent off a copy of 'his' passport (edit to reflect details for "James Brosnan Bond" or something... It was a funny read!

Re: A Special E-Mail From Ammousou Andre

I get them too; several a day.

The best one was from a chap in Nigeria who claimed that his cousin was Nigeria's only astronaut, who had been sent up in a Russian rocket in the early 80's. Nigeria's space budget didn't run to bringing him back though and he is still up there (eating marmite sandwiches, I guess) and his back pay was now at $15,000,000. Did I want some? (of the pay, not the sandwiches)

Family, eh!

I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it.
But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up.

But...

you make THE difference.
