I've played FFXI (like WoW, but much more tedious) for the last couple years, and I'm very familiar with these "professional" players. It's easy to get mad at them in game because they compete with legitimate players for income/drops, and they tend to manipulate the in-game economy.

I'd imagine they have pretty squalid existances though. No point kicking folks while they're already down. If MMOs are ever going to be free of these sorts of play-for-profit 3rd-worlders, the games themselves are going to have to change. I can't really blame the folks. I'd probably do the same thing if I were in their position. I doubt they feel to bad about pissing off a bunch of Americans who are trying to play video games.
