You've probably heard of Grand Theft Auto IV. It'll be available this month (April 2008).

GTA is one of the most popular game franchises. Since I don't own a console, I'm considering to purchase a Playstation 3 just to play this (highly anticipated) game. The new online features and modes look very cool.

They'll release a PC version later, but there's no official date yet. So this could be approximately half a year or a year from the console release.

Funny I just some read comments about this game and how the makers had planned to eliminate nudity in this game. I think players said they could unlock the nudity which shows half a nipple of some hooker they were supposedly banging.

They were worried that nudity could affect the morals of kids while they are stealing cars, beating people, having sex and selling drugs. Hey we need to be concerned that our kids aren't seeing nudity while similating sex and trying to become the best car theives and drug dealers on the block. That makes sense.

I want be buying but I may steal the game which would be more in line with the theme of the game.

Waiting a year for GTA4 on the PC?! Discrimination I tell you. We need an equal game opportunities commission. Sheesh.

I prefer to avoid gaming.It seems too much is blamed on games and the young men who use them.I`ve also heard people say that it seems that guys are only interested in gaming,whores,cars,and drinking.The implication being that they are too dumb or too limited for anything else.So no games for me,thank you.

The Grand Theft Auto series is fantastic. I'd have to buy a PS3 or Xbox360 (I'm a Sony fan so I'd opt for the former) to take advantage of GTA4 though.

From a MRA point of view, there's an important point to be made here. Nintendo have turned their back on the audience that grew and sustained their business over the years - young males - by going baldheaded for a more lucrative, predictable demograhpic - women.

Releases like GTA4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 will help stave off the entire industry doing likewise. As Microsoft and Sony get progressively more frustrated with Nintendo's increasing market share and profit margins, they may well want to "hop onto" the one big differentiating factor between their products. It's not going to be fun watching the gaming industry getting cannabilised by the relentless persuit of the female dollar. It's happened to practically every other industry and entertainment sector you can think of - publishing, TV, movies, music, etc. The results have been irrelevance to men and a noticable drop in quality.

Say what you want about gaming consuming too much of men's time (its adversity is arguable, though there are other, much more fundamental factors), at least men can still for the most part turn to it for an escape. Because the average Hollywood flick or TV schedule is no escape, nor is it moderately entertaining!

My nephew will buying this shortly for his 360. I had the original GTA-III on the PC with a (back then) top end machine to kick ass with. The only thing that narked me with this game was Hitlary Cliton pretending it promoted violence against women, while ignoring the fact that 99% of the victims in the game were actually... men.

Seems the gaming world and reality ain't so far apart after-all.

After forking out loads of cash on a graphics card, meaning I can now run most games to their full potential, I thought I was set. How wrong I was, I'm absolutely gutted that PC gamers have to wait for GTA 4, if they even get it at all.
No other game would make me consider a next gen console apart from GTA, which is why I was trawling the web for deals on GTA packages this week, the best I found was an Xbox 360 + GTA for £199, which I'll get if I can't find anything better. I'd rather get a PS3, but it's the price that bothers me, I've often wondered why consoles were so expensive since it's games they make their money from.

If they would give an official release date for a PC version then I'd wait, but if not then I'll be buying a next gen console just for one game, which seems like such a waste. I'm really looking forward to it though, I never play online, but GTA-online might just be too tempting to resist.

I got two sons and the first one wanted every new game system that came out. Of course Mom has no problems with forking out cash when available to spoil her child.
So women do play a part in the market price because most don't know the value of a dollar.
