I've read that it's gotten so bad -- our bodies are so infused with that chemical -- that it now composes literally 70 percent of our bodies. At this point, I'd say that it's hopeless. We'll never be free of it.

Has the press ignored this web site and the Dihydrogen Monoxide problem?

For the most part, the press has not reported on the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide as much as some would like. Although many private individuals have put up web sites in a major grassroots effort to spread the word, major publications have not.Recently, attention has been paid to the subject thanks to an incident in Aliso Viejo, California. This so-called Aliso Viejo Incident was widely reported in the media, although the director of DHMO.org, Dr. Tom Way, was called a "prankster." Once the Associated Press started circulating the story, it became fact, and the valuable information being provided by the DHMO.org website was deemed to be "rubbish" rather than an honest and unbiased recounting of facts about a dangerous, life-endangering chemical compound.

What can I do to minimize the risks?

Fortunately, there is much you can do to minimize your dangers due to Dihydrogen Monoxide exposure. First, use common sense. Whenever you are dealing with any product or food that you feel may be contaminated with DHMO, evaluate the relative danger to you and your family, and act accordingly. Keep in mind that in many instances, low-levels of Dihydrogen Monoxide contamination are not dangerous, and in fact, are virtually unavoidable. Remember, the responsibility for your safety and the safety of your family lies with you.
Second, exercise caution when there is the potential for accidental inhalation or ingestion of DHMO. If you feel uncomfortable, remove yourself from a dangerous situation. Better safe than sorry.

Third, don't panic. Although the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide are very real, by exercising caution and common sense, you can rest assured knowing that you are doing everything possible to keep you and your family safe.

Where I live, in New Hampshire, DHMO concentrations in the atmosphere get so bad-
in the winter (under certain atmospheric conditions), sometimes it just "settltes" out of the air and sticks to anything that's outside. The entire community has to go to great lengths not to track it indoors. Most folk have special abatement equipment located just inside their primary portals. Secondary portals are generally sealed off until the prevailing atmosphere stabilizes
closer to STP (Standard Temprature and Pressure) of 25degC@ 1atm.

It's probably not coincidence that during these extended periods of exposure to DHMO precipitate, I notice aching body joints and excess mucus in my nasal membrane passages.

I live on an island. We are surrounded by the stuff and oft times it happens that it encroaches onto land. Our State Government had matters in Policy hand a while back, so we thought. There were instructions sent to all the permanent and part-time Fire services people to equip with containment vessels. There were a number of bright shiney new vehicles, bought at great expense to the tazpayer and dedicated to carting the stuff away. The population breathed a little easier. That is until the new fire chief started using the damned stuff to spray on fires !!

There is a theory that fish attract it. It hasn't been proven yet but I understand that there is a huge, secret military effort to explore the possibilities. There was a goldfish carried into space last year but that caused an international uproar.

An alternative view is that it is sand that attracts it but so far there hasn't been any found in the Gobi desert. Maybe deep down though.....?
