Last fall (Sept 2007) I had the opportunity to see (and meet) a female rookie (19 years old) hydroplane driver race against the big boys...final race of the season in Port Angeles, WA. Her name: Kayleigh Perkins....and she clinched the team championship, though she lost the last race, coming in second place. What's so amazing about her? She's young, she's female, she's good at what she does, and she was racing all season against drivers who've been doing this for years.

A small, soft-spoken, attractive female, Kayleigh Perkins was a delight to meet in person. Quite an inspiration, too.

I'm a huge racing fan, and have been since about the age of 4. I've never seen a female in this profession until Kayleigh came along...and what a splash she's making!

Honestly now folks. Anyone that has ever watched Indy racing KNOWS that that guy was in the wrong. HE didn't belong where he was. Her hitting him was HIS FAULT, not hers.

Truthfully, I don't catch the races whether it's GP, F1 or Indy... but thanks for the information, I genuinely wasn't aware of that. Well noted!

Each car has 48" from the wall and 48" from the previous pit location. As you can clearly see by the pic below, the crewchief was well outside of his crews area and within Danica's pit location entry point.

He was in the wrong. And his interview about the incident implies that he KNEW he was wrong.

On the other hand, 31 men drivers didn't run down anyone. I find it hard to believe that 100% of all the other crews were standing exactly where they are "supposed to be" during the entire race. Only the cunt ran one down.

She didn't even try to avoid him, she just went through him like he wasn't there. They're making the excuse that it wasn't a member of her crew, it's fucking ridiculous. It was a person standing next to other fucking people, and she ran him the fuck over, who cares what team he is a part of?

The race on May 10th was not the Indianapolis 500, which was run on Sunday, May 25. The May 10 race was another race featuring the same style of cars and many of the same teams, cars, and drivers.

In the Indianapolis 500 on May 25, Ms. Patrick managed to avoid running down any crewmen in the pits. This time she crashed into another car in pit lane, and damaged her car so she could not continue or finish the race.

at the 500 race her race was cut short due to having an accident in pit lane with an Australian male driver - somehow they touched and it was all over for both of them

I believe the fault was with the male driver

what was annoying was her on camera walking down pit lane saying she was going to find the guy and implying that she was going to punish him physically by punching him in the head

now in in other motorsports etc this type of talk usually ends up with a suspension and fine - if its a man
