Yes, well feminists have often stated that women are more intelligent than men, more in touch with their feelings than men, more important than men, more this than men, more that than men, more the other than men, more and so on and so on... This is likely just stroking their gyno-egos.

The real question is not "who is smarter", but "what is intelligence". By answering that, the smarter one will automatically come out on top.

Some results have the researcher putting this apparent surge in female IQ down to their ability to multitask, and female multitasking is something that I thought had been debunked and even ridiculed.

In my experience women's "multitasking" is simply a lack of focus, and results in several tasks not being done satifactorily. On the other hand, the 'inferior' man will generally persist at the single task in hand until it is completed successfully.

There's another way to look at the figures - IQ is a fictional metric, and one of the classic dogmas of IQ theory is that males and females have equal IQ. IQ itself doesn't exist - it's a fiction.

Also, it's well known that males on average score better on some questions, and females score better on other questions. So, traditionally, the method of achieving "equality" in the testing has been to modify the number and weighting of "pro-male" and "pro-female" questions until your test-sample groups all give the desired statistical outcome - an average of 100 IQ for BOTH male and female.

Let's consider now, why women's IQ's would "suddenly" jump up in a few years only. It's because women's education levels have been improving in the third world. It might also be nutrition improving as well.

Education improves your test scores. Well known fact.

It's mentioned that the researchers used some of the older-style tests, not a modern re-calibrated one.

But - the tests they are running were calibrated to give equal male/female IQ - BEFORE the improvement in women's education. So, because of political-correct dogma, the tests basically had a pro-female bias which masked their disadvantage in education, all under the guise of "political correctness"

So - the tests used were from a time when females were disadvantaged in education, but dogma demanded the tests give equal scores.

This is why so few females innovate. Most inventors are called crazy for their dedication to a sole task but once completed are praised. Look at Edison, Tesla, Einstein, The Orville Brothers, etc... Most women would rather "not waste" their time on things and instead work on social connections. There are exceptions but they are far and few...

I like this article because it is less "pop culture" and more balanced explanation. Supposedly women have been catching up with men and increasing IQ points more rapidly than men. But has anyone found more on the methodology of this particular study?

Again, what is the basis of "IQ"? Is it math? Science? Cognition? Eye-hand coordination? Eye-hand-mouth coordination? The whole point of the test is to make some people feel better than others.

I don't think it's an accurate assessment of intelligence. Just as a person can learn to be smart, one can also learn to be dumb.

Even without the tests, life-experience teaches us that the smartest people are prodominantly male.
The stupidest are also mainly male.

I've read time after time, when feminists discuss IQ points, they typically claim it's a malecentric test (designed by men, for men, so of course men benefit/come out on top)...

Now that women are surpassing men, I wonder what excuses they give now?

If it's anything like the school scenario (i.e. when boys outranked girls, it was because it was malecentric, when girls outranked boys it was because boys were lazy and girls were just obviously superior and had nothing to do with the fact that feminists had demanded schools change to benefit girls' learning styles at the cost of boys) then no doubt we'll see the usual hypocrisy played out for them.

I'm not sure where it's going.. but I've an idea where it'll go from the feminist perspective.

When women say "multi-tasking" what they usually mean is "switch-tasking". They don't really do more than one thing at once they just spend a little time doing X, then they spend a little time doing Y, then they go back to X and so on. It's not literally multi-tasking. But this could mean the efficiency of the tasks could be compromised.

I agree with Floaty on IQ... Usually tests like that are bogus and made so that the "victor?" has bragging points. They do not prove intellect, smarts, skill, or vision...

IQ is a measure of who can score highest on IQ scores and has some value in determining general mental capability. The ideal of IQ testing is to arrive at 100 for the average of all major groupings. As the unregistered guest implies, any major testing that shows an IQ test to show anything other than equal intelligence between male and female (or old and young, or black and white, or religious and atheist, etc.) is a fault with the test - nothing more.

James Flyn gives away his agenda somewhat when he decries how women "were disadvantaged in the past." Any so-called 'study' from a leftist professor in political studies (a hotbed of revisionism and junk science) has to be approached with skepticism. And if the benchmark for intelligence is Trivial Pursuit, given how many of the questions comprise of vacuous mind-numbing subjects like celebrities and pop culture, it's hardly surprising women will have an advantage. It's reason why Flyn is conveniently bypassing any peer review & publishing the 'data' in his new book. It's just peddling a fraud to shore up women's fragile sensibilities by appealing to their insatiable chauvinistic thirst. I bet he's keeping his fingers crossed that pandering to women will be rewarded sexually! IQ is also about transferring it into productivity, practical functions and inventions etc. Very few women can manage that even with the crutches of the state & private enterprise bending over backwards to accomodate them.
