VANCOUVER -- B.C. Mounties are once again in damage control after graphic images of an officer engaged in violent bondage sex scenes were made public. “I am personally embarrassed and very disappointed that the RCMP would be, in any way, linked to photos of that nature,” B.C.’s acting RCMP commander Randy Beck said in a statement Thursday, adding Mounties are conducting a code-of-conduct investigation.

Beck was responding to explosive photos allegedly showing Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jim Brown in various bondage scenes that were at one point posted on the Internet but since removed.
Some of those images obtained by QMI Agency depict a woman tied up, choked and slashed with a machete by a man identified as Brown, who apparently styled himself as the “Kilted Knight.” The scenes often appeared to involve simulated torture, with Brown in a dominant position.
Former RCMP consultant Dr. Mike Webster, speaking from his Denman Island, B.C., office Thursday, said he’d heard from at least two Mounties who knew about the racy pictures from a website Brown apparently ran nearly two years ago.
“(In one) series of picture, he comes upon a woman on the street. He stalks her, he captures her, he takes her somewhere, it’s a private location, he wraps her in cellophane … he puts his feet on her, he cuts her, she bleeds,” Webster said.
The psychologist, who worked with B.C. Mounties for more than 30 years, said the latest scandal is another severe blow to a force plagued by misconduct complaints in recent months — everything from allegations of sexual harassment to an officer accused of stealing cocaine.
Beck, meantime, explained the Coquitlam detachment commander found the images in December 2010 on a personal flash drive, but the pictures didn’t initially meet the “threshold” to be considered a violation of conduct — the images were deemed staged.

It wasn’t until March this year that a “code of conduct” investigation was opened when the photos were found on a personal website.

After the images went public Thursday, Beck said an “external” police agency would be asked to independently review the Mounties’ code-of-conduct investigation.

Brown has been placed on administrative duties.
The officer had “a very small role” in the investigation of convicted serial killer Robert Pickton, according to the Missing Women Inquiry commissioner Wally Oppal.
“I have instructed commission counsel to gather more information regarding the RCMP investigation into the situation … with the Department of Justice on this matter,” he said in a statement.

Disgusting. Feminists swear up and down that their enlightened, progressive ways will liberate women and men from having to feel nervous about their particular sexual appetites. Yet, when the rubber meets the road, the feminists are either on jumping on the bandwagon to tar and feather a man who did nothing wrong, or mysteriously absent. As far as I can tell, the feminism sub-reddit hasn't even mentioned this.

I don't know this person, but I am aware any close connection with MRAs offline will cost me dearly so I don't go there. Why a man shouldn't have to think the same way, I don't know.

What she's saying is, you have to be careful what you allow on the internet if it could negatively affect your offline life. Is it really that difficult to understand? If you are employed by the public, you have to watch it. It's why, as a public employee, I can't accept a free coffee from a licensee or use the photocopier at work for a single photocopy.

Actually I do find her comment hard,if not impossible to understand.

Personally, I defend the right of both men and women in the police to express themselves within their own spare time, as with the general public. As long as they turn up on duty and do their job correctly, I won't impose upon them more than what they seek to inflict upon me.

How's that for a working platform?

As I am a public servant, I work for the same Federal Government as this officer, this implies that we have no right to privacy, which is bogus. While I agree that posting photos of yourself online is stupid thing to do, it's not criminal, nor does it appear to be a violation of anything other than common sense.

Worse is that this being a male, and in Canada, his gender is actually being judged more harshly. If the genders were reversed, and this was an RCMP female officer who posed as a dominatrix, her ability to investigate sex crimes would NEVER be called into question.

This story reeks of institutionalized misandry.

I'm right there with ya Celtic Druid. I do not understand why any of this is any of the RCMP's business. The RCMP spokesman should have made the statement "While off-duty RCMP officers are exactly the same as every other citizen, and what consenting adult do together in their sex life is not a concern for the RCMP."

There is no mention of this officer posing in his uniform, or posting "I'm a cop so I know how to abuse someone" or anything relating to his being a RCMP officer. So where is the connection? Why is this something they need to even talk about? Work life over here, and private life over here. Is there some law making it a criminal offense to be a maledom in Canada? Or is it just that he's male and male sexuality is icky.

This. By and large, this.

The RCMP has done some especially heinous things in the past, and officers have faced little, if any, discipline. This includes, shooting a restrained suspect in custody in the head and killing him, and then covering it up. The officer responsible was exonerated by two separate inquiries, because naturally, dead men tell no tales, and the recording devices weren't turned on.

Yet this is the issue that draws attention?

I venture that this fellow will find himself out of a job because "women's groups" will demand it, which is absurd.

As anyone involved in the BDSM scene should be able to attest, consent, and mutual negotiation are the cornerstones of the kink community. They tend to have better communication than your average "vanilla" couple, and it's beyond the pale for feminists to claim in one breath that they're going to free us from this kind of persecution, and then throw the book at this police officer with the next.

I'd get a specialist lawyer involved which would legally pick away the contract which purports to allow the state to interfere in the private affairs of their employees (did you note the sarcasm?). A good lawyer will rip this bullshit to pieces! Everything is premised around the precise wording of contracts. I guarantee there's no specific stipulation regarding sexual conduct of employees in private.
