Night at the Museum
I don't get surprised anymore at the glaring misandry in big hollywood movies. Take, for example, the latest "night at the museum" movie wherein our favorite night-time museum security guard finds a "sidekick" in "Amelia Earhardt".
Throughout the movie, Earhardt is portrayed as if she were a contemporary feminist; the snappy retorts, the reflexive assumption of misogyny, and the all over unction of "anything you can do I can do better"....puke.
It's a real shame that Earhardt's actual character, philosophy, and accomplishments are so belittled by the film that the image of a great woman of history is reduced to a snotty, self-absorbed...itch.
Just another example of females in popular film being protrayed as powerful, desireable and influential while yet demonstrating any sort of actual human character besides total encompassing self-absorption derived from desperate emotional neediness lurking just under the surface of their fragile egos.
How in the world does our main character even seem to fall for her? You guessed it...pity.
Oh and ummm, God love her for trying, but the real Earhardt ended up, you know, lost and errr...dead.

Oh I remember that and the braindead slap in the face. They just HAD to include the mandatory female virtue goddess slaps dumbdumb boy. The only good thing about the movie was Amy Adam's posterior. The rest of the movie bored me to tears
